I make a dispute package every week now so I just uploaded the whole thing here since it was ready.
oR vs i9 TWL semi finals 2008
"With what seemed impossible, i9.aa finally made it past the first round of a league with other Invite level teams competing, which lined us up against overRated in the semi-finals. overRated is known for beating down pretty much all but 2-3 teams consistently but seems to have lost interest in the game (as have most other teams) lately and so things had a surprising outcome for both sides. i9.aa came into the semi-finals the underdog in every way with a lesser record in TWL, and an even worse record against overRated.
We choose Urban Assault as our map in the 2 of 3 map playoffs knowing that Urban was one of our stronger maps in CQB. On the other hand, we did not know how strong oR would be. The match started out fast as it showed early on we had made the correct map choice. oR was over run 9-1 as whiz showed an almost flawless performance clutching many rounds in 2v1 and 3v1 situations.
Moving over to oR's map, Collapsed Tunnel, the feelings on vent were less than par to say the least. The roster we had was not prepared for this map at all, and even if we were, this was not our CT roster, and even if it was, oR is amazing at CT and always has been. After the dust settled, oR came out ahead 8-2 with a stellar performance from scarface on that map, sending both teams to Border.
Border has been a strange map for us. We are considered a more outdoor team with our current roster, but have slipped on Border, the largely outdoor map, even against "Open" teams. We also had no idea how oR would handle the map either, so a nervous roster setup for whatever. oR must not have expected to be in this situation, because our team came up ahead 3-1 and the match was over due to rounds.
GG's to oR. Reports from the i9. starters are that oR is one of the best and most pleasant opponents they have played in sometime, and that obviously did not go unnoticed." -- karni |
