i got hd 580's and the cords go bad like every 6 months with normal use. Those of u who have 555's and one side goes out normally its the cords not the phones themselves. Order replacement cords unless your model doesnt have detachable cords. In that case your screwed.
I ordered 555's on Sunday. My Medusa's broke in the same spot 3 other peoples did (spanker, wolf, becker) so there is obviously a problem with the design. Granted when i leave my computer sometimes i slam my headset but still, same spot 3 diff people? They broke right where it bends and the earpiece extends for people with big heads.
SO i got my 555's and they seem a bit more comfortable than my medusas but there are 2 things i dislike.
1. Doesnt come with a mic so i bought a Zalman clip on mic. 2. No volume control. Sometimes I like to have the volume so i can barely hear it and this headset doesn't have a volume control so i needed to download a program with hotkeys to change volume.
I will not buy a new headset until my Medusas turn to dust. My set like many others broke in the same place even though I'm very careful with them. But, all I needed was my trusty glue gun and a small piece of pink paper to get it to fit just like it did when I first got them. Pictures included.
I really like my dusa's and I think that one day they'll just be two earpieces connected by glue and taped to my head. Once they actually stop producing sound I'll pick up some hd 555's or something while still utilizing the dusa's mic.
my zalmann's have nice sound, but not very precise sound for AA (raf laughed at me when I told him I had these), a few near death incidents when rolling over them with my chair, but I'll keep em till I break em.
HD555 vs Medusas
and the sounds wasn't so crisp as the hd's
I had sen HD 555's for Years and never had a prob....

i will take my hd555 back..if they dont fix them i will order those.
Honestly don't waste your money on an expensive headset, I did and I regret it.

i currently use the fatality headset. it's been working pretty well, and the plush on it is very comfortable.
