America's Army is new to the GotFrag scene and only a small fraction of the community knows what the site has the offer. Here is a quick rundown of the features you as a user can have available to you. I'll start off by explaining the three different user editable functions: Community News, Forums, and Demo Uploads. Community news and demos require approval before being published, and when submitted will wait in a queue until someone with access can have a look at them. As we are the newest addition to GotFrag, we need to show that we are deserving of forums. You can help by posting comments and generating site hits. So until the time comes when we have generated enough support and subscribers, our higher-ups have not seen the need for AA forums. Community News This is the section of the site for team news by the community members themselves. In order to see the button to add community news, it is necessary to be logged in. The [add] option will be displayed next to the view button under the community news sidebar. If you want to submit a story on your team, you're welcome to do so but remember it will be edited for spelling and grammar, as well as formatted to fit the page. When uploading a story it is important to not use any code or HTML at all, simply the text of the story and the rest will be taken care of for you. Finally, the best way to get an idea for this section of the site is to view some examples from other games, such as Call of Duty, Day of Defeat, or Counter Strike. http://www.gotfrag.com/cod/community/Latest America's Army Demos The Demo Upload section can be found on the sidebar and, like community news, anyone logged in can upload. Please place them in a zipped folder before uploading, as files without the .zip extension will cause a number of problems. The upload button can be found at the bottom of the current demos list, and should be easy to find. Once there, you will be presented with a number of easy sections to scroll through. The only one an AA player should have a problem with is PoV, meaning "point of view". As for HLTV, this is a demo option only available for games using the half life or source engines, so please ignore unless you have a complete collection of all the players from the match's recordings. http://www.gotfrag.com/cod/demos/Not all demos will be accepted to be put on the site, as open and intermediate level matches will not be that appealing to most viewers. However, due to the lack of demos in the library, we will be making exceptions. Although the America's Army demo recording engine is not the best out there, there have been unconfirmed reports that, to help anti-cheat organizations and leagues, the next patch (2.8.2) the devs will be focusing on it. Please remember we have no idea if this is true or not, and this is the devs we are talking about, so don't hold your breath. |
