Tonight marked a day that will remain on Team Mediocrity's calendars forever and that is the day that we won our first title together as a team. Before the merge both teams had not won anything big in any tournaments and leagues and with a merge we hoped to get over that hump. After a few weeks of practice and several matches and scrims we found ourselves right we were wanted to be in a finals match! Going into this match as huge underdogs facing off against Slow Reaction on one of their better maps we knew we had our work cut out for us. Slow Reaction had recently come off two hot wins against Just Cause Project and Redemption and were also looking to take their first respectable title. The map for tonights match was Insurgent Camp and the stakes were $1,200 in prizes including mice, mouse pads, webcams, and web hosting packages. Onto the match details.

We started off on Assault and tried a few different pushes that we worked on during the week. We found ourselves in several citations where the round could have been easily ours but a lack of coordination in our pushes left us stranded and quickly down 0-5. We realized that it was better for us to just push really hard and fast before they could pick us off and before they could figure out what happened. That plan seemed to work as we took the next two rounds and the momentum making the score 5-2 at side switch.

On defense spanker held radio room with the SAW, loveline held garage, wolf held basement, and chris floated with the 203. We had several scares but our good rotation after one player went down was no match for Slow Reactions pushes and we held them off for another 5 rounds making the score 7-5 in favor of us. The next round went to Slow Reaction after spanker jinxed us by typing last in TeamSay thinking he was cool. After chris took down insane the next round we were sure we had this one because we ha eliminated one of their key players and their 203 cover. A few kills later is was 3 of us (chris, spanker, and loveline) against Snooze in basement and he was taken down by chris for the game shot making the score 8-6 in favor of Mediocrity.

When GotFrag interviewed us when we first merged and joined the CAL tournament one of the questions was if you win the CAL tournament how will the prizes be split up. We really didn't have a straight answer for them replying with, "we will figure something out, we just want to focus on actually winning and we will figure that out when the time comes".

Since that time has come I would like to let everyone know that we have decided how we are going to do the prizes. We have to see if CAL will be willing to send the prizes to several different people or just 4 people and once we know CAL's answer we will see who receives what prizes. If CAL agrees and says we can send one player this mouse pad and another player this mouse etc then we will divide the prizes up on a who played, who needs, and who wants basis in that order. Basically the people who played the majority of the matches will get to pick what prizes they want, next in line will be people who actually need a new mouse etc, and people with last picks will people who want a new product etc. If CAL only agrees to send the prizes to 4 people then we will ahve to try to ship them to each other, we will see how things play out in the next few days. In conclusion Mediocrity takes home their first ever title as a team, winning one of AA's few tournaments that had prizes, winning by the score of 8-6.
