GotFrag Predictions: CAL-I Week 1

The First week of action starts Thursday on Insurgent Camp for the beginning of the new CAL Invite season. GotFrag will be covering this season with up to date news and predictions. This all new prediction series will deliver short and sweet descriptions of each match from the Gotfrag staff. We will be bringing in a guest predicter each week, and each predicter has one sentence to predict an outcome on a match and why. Stay locked on GotFrag this season to keep tabs on some of the best teams in the game as they fight for a playoff seed in CAL-Invites Season 9! This week we have brought on Cover 3 member Strife to guest pred this weeks matches.

-just Cause project. vs. IceNine.

jCp is coming off another title win in CEVO and now have their eyes set on a CAL title. IceNine has had some roster issues as of late and will be looking to boot off the reigning CEVO champs in the first week of the season. Both teams are very familiar with each other having played at CPL and the vAAlan in the past.

jCp will walk all over i9, i9 will grab a few rounds but that's about it.

IceNine needs alittle more time with the new starting lineup before they upset any of the bigger teams.

jCp wins because of one word, experience. The newer lineup of IceNine will have a tough time beating jCp on their favorite map.

Mug N` Mouse vs. Redemption

Mug N` Mouse is also coming off a solid run in CEVO last season taking home 2nd place and a cash prize. The time this team spends preparing week by week has landed them a great amount of respect in terms of skill as of late. Redemption has brought back in star player Mechy to the lineup and look to do some damage this season.

MNM will take care of business against Redemption, both teams are very good on this map but MNM edges out the win.

Chris' pregame battlecry on the CAL forums against ConMan makes me vote for MNM.

MOTW in my opinion. MNM's experience in leagues will prove to be the winning factor in this close match.

Conviction vs. Rising Storm

Cover 3 just recently added Jonny to the roster and expect to take the #1 team in the game here soon. Conviction was just recently added to the Invites after CAL called for a discussion between the invite team leaders earlier this week. Conviction was supposedly added by the vote of those in attendance and now are faced off against one of the msot experienced teams in the game.

cov3 and con will both practice hard and have good strats, but cov3 edge in talent will lead them to victory.

Jonny and Warpain will shut down Conviction this week - Cover 3 wins by a decent margin.
No team will be overlooking coN's talent with their move up. c3's prep will win this match for them.

Even Flow vs. overRated

overRated the reigning champs from last season will be looking to start off the season strong against the new comers in week 1. This is a matchup of the CAL Champs as eFlow won CAL-Main last season. How will the two collide on the seemin even sided map Insurgent Camp?

Mr.Clean

eFlow will have a very tough time against overRated on what is probably their best map in recent seasons, I see oR getting double digit rounds.

Will be interesting to see what lineup oR pulls out this season, but nevertheless they win regardless.
overRated's lineup shouldn't be a factor. oR's pure talent will win them the match vs the newer team, eFlow.

Nerve Damage vs. United 5

Rumors say that the team has disbanded and will not be competing in the upcoming season.

Mr.Clean

Nerve Damage will beat United 5 as they are somewhat inactive right now and won't be ready

Forfiet win for Nerve Damage.
Forfeit win for nd. Would have been a MOTW if u5 stayed alive.

Dropouts vs. edGe

edGe formerly known as going Live and Enervate Gaming had a pretty poor season against the top teams in CEVO last season. With the recent merge they look to hop back in to the game and put together a solid season. Dropouts seem to have added a few Ataxia members to the team to help them throughout the season.

edge could upset here, but I just don't see it happening, with a little effort dropouts should win this one

This match comes down to whoever can pull off 8 round wins first. I'll go with edGe to edge out a win on this one.
The new atx merger will help the dropouts win a close match vs a new talented edGe team.
