America's Army: CAL Main Week 3 - Predictions

By: Justin - Published May 27, 2008 at 8:23 PM EDT - Writer Archive
Bring on the howling wind and blowing sand in one of the only SF maps teams like to compete on...SF Sandstorm.

Week 3 of CAL brings the competition classic, SF Sandstorm. This map is very fast paced with short round times and quick flanks. GotFrag will be covering this season with up to date news and predictions. Strategies are a big part of this map, especially since a round can be won by only holding 2 of the 3 objectives at the round end.

misChief vs Final Destination-M

Final Destination picked up some new members to make up a roster for their main team. They are currently 1-1 in the season after a hard loss last week. They will be taking on misChief, a new team with old players looking for some fun in the competition scene. Last week mCs match was overturned because legacy played people not on their roster, leaving both mC and fd-m just breaking even for the season.

This match can go either way, but I will pick misChief because I do not think fd-m has the roster.

I am not sure about FD's activity, but they should win this one against mC who is only here for the fun of it.
Experience prevails here with misChief taking the win. Im sure they are going to pub the match, but their overall awareness and skill level will overcome.

Legacy eSports vs Team ess

Legacy has had a rough start this CAL season. After being moved down to CAL-M, they took a 0-14 loss during week 1 and an overturned match in week 2, leaving them 0-28. As for Team ess, their only win is during a BYE week, followed by a loss against etU.

I am going with legacy because they have the shots over ess.

This is just getting silly, now legacy picked up brett wilkie and su1, both cheated on many occasions and will again, legacy gets their 2nd forfeit loss and team ess gets their 2nd forfeit win.
The newly dropped Legacy eSports will win the match due to their "guided" faith in their bullets. Move it a little to the left, fellas.

Fight Club vs No Hesitation

Both teams have has a good start so far this season. No Hesitation is currently 2-0 as a brand new team. Even with a perfect season so far, they are facing Fight Club, a team with a very good reputation on SF Sandstorm. This match will be a good one to follow come Thursday.

Fight Club will win if they field the right people because they have the experience on SS over nH.

This is almost too close to call, I see this one going to a couple of OT's with fc.laz- clutching and taking it in the end.
If Fight Club prepares for this they can put up a fight and possibly win it. nh will come prepared. Winner: Fightclub

Elite Tactical Unit vs Instruments of Allah

Elite Tactical Unit is brand new to the main division of competition, and they will need to pull everything together to keep up this season. As for iNNo, they reformed after a past break up and are looking for a third victory to continue their perfect season.

Jee

iNNo will win solely due to the experience and roster. There is not much hope for etU on this one.

eTu will win some more matches this season, and could very well upset this week, but iNNo continues to prep and will squeak out the win.
iNNo will win this one because of the gap in skill. A big marginal win.

epiC vs The Knights of the Round Table

epiC has had a very strong season the first two weeks, only letting up 3 rounds total. Both teams have been around for a while now in the main division, and they both have the experience needed to win this match. epiC is 2-0 while Knights are 1-1, losing only to No Hesitation. The season is still young and anything can happen.

epiC has had a strong start and I feel they can continue it into week 3.

epiC is pretty serious business this season, and I just don't see the knights being a tough match-up for them, plus they recently played a TWL league match on SS and it was a convincing win by epiC.
Another good match if both teams prepare. Look for epiC to edge out though.

Deadly Shot vs Unreasonable Ownage

I am not even sure if Deadly Shot is around anymore. I know they lost a lot of their starters, but they still have a roster on CAL. This may turn out to be UOs second forfeit win in a row to keep the season going 2-1 for them. Even if Ds does have 4 members to play, it does not look good after their 0-2 season.

Jee

Unreasonable Ownage will win this due to the break up of Ds.

Word is Ds is dead. Either way I'm not sure why they are in main and will get smacked down if they show.
With rumors spreading that ds passed away, UO will take the easy win here.

Version 3 vs Fragweiser

Version 3 has a strong roster with some CAL-M experience. Losing in overtime last week, v3 will be taking on Fragweiser. Fragweiser has been around for a long time and were the TWL-O Champions last season, as well as CAL-O Finalists. Both teams have a good amount of experience, making this prediction up in the air, leaving the outcome undecided for many.

This could also go either way, but I think Fragweiser has it more together and will take the win.

Either this or fc vs nH is MOTW. If Frag has the right roster they will win by a few rounds.
The beer guys should take the win over Version 3 here by a slim margin.

Unknown Factor vs Lost Cause

Unknown Factor recently lost one of their key starters, donmai, and have struggled to scrim or get any sort of practice in as a team. Last week they put in a forfeit loss, and this may be the case for Sandstorm as well. Lost Cause won CAL-O last season and may continue the season with another win on their record. We will all have to wait to see if uF even shows.

Jee

donmai kept uF together, now they he is gone, Lc will win by forfeit.

I doubt uF will show, but pretty sure Lc will win either way.
uF needs to get it together or they will remain dead. Lc with the big win.
