Over the past 5 or so releases of AA, only 1 map has been added to the pool of maps regularly used in competition. This map, Urban Assault, will again take center stage this week in CAL Competition.

We're heading into the 4th week of this CAL Invite season. Things are starting to shape up in the standings as the stronger teams are slowly pulling away. There are 2 undefeated teams and 2 winless teams, that trend will likely continue this week, but there is often surprises on urban so we'll have to see. The 2-1 and 1-2 teams will duke it out this week and jockey for position. The best thing is, and perhaps most surprising, is that there hasn't been any forfeits. Either way this week promises to be very exciting and very fast paced. The nature of Urban Assault rounds can be aggressive and/or passive. Teams usually push the further objective hard and try to secure it quickly with cover while taking the close objective, or they try to get some picks before pushing the further objective. If you have a very strong player holding down your close objective, it allows the other teammates to be creative in their attacks and flanks. Urban is a great map for trick nades and sneaky tight spots to pull off a headshot. It's too bad casting has been delayed until they can find someone to host to pc's for the cast, perhaps by the playoffs we will get casts again.
This week I had 2 new guest predictors for the invite matches. Sniper from Fragweiser (main team) and Ninja from No Hesitation (main team) were the guest predictors. Both did a pretty decent job I think, read on...

Rising Storm is just better than edGe. More experienced and more skilled than edGe, only cockiness will allow them to lose a few rounds.
With the depth in roster and teamwork that Rising Storm has shown so far in the Cal-I season (2-1) I see no reason why they cant overcome the 0-3 edGe. This doesn’t mean that RS can take them easy but I don’t see it being close.
rS beat dropouts last week easily, a team who beat edGe in week 1. Look for an easy win from rS this week

I see this as one of the best matches of the year. Wh!z is often a monster on urban, if he has a supporting cast, IceNine upsets by a round or 2.
In my opinion this will be MOTW and both teams have more than likely practiced their hardest for this match. It will come down to the very end but I think that MNM has the experience in close matched over i9 as long as they can get around wh!z.
I don't think i9 has what it takes to beat chris and his squadron of soldiers, 10-4 in favor of mnm.

Gotta go with dropouts here. Unless Conviction has finally gotten it together on this map.
Dropouts will win this one due to the map for this week. In the past Conviction has shown some weakness on Urban Assault but there is no reason that they cant turn it around at one point; I just don’t think it will be this week.
Even though this is one of convictions self confessed worst maps, I don't see dropouts practicing much, 8-6 win for con

Definitely one of the hardest to predict, it's a crap shoot and the dice say FD-i.
The roster addition Final Destination has undergone makes this prediction a little easier. The match should be close but fd should come out with a win.
Match of the week for sure, I see redemption scrimming more and more lately, but I still think nd will take this match, possibly in overtime.

Although u5 has a large roster, they are quite inactive. overRated used to blow on urban, but they have improved, and will simply need to work together in order to beat down United 5.
I don’t know about you guys but it seems that U5 is not what it used to be. I see oR winning this one shortly after half time. But you never know it may be time for U5 to turn their season around and take this win.
u5 are as good as dead, having lost every invite game this season, I don't see them upsetting one of the better invite teams.

What was once a weak map for jCp, has become possibly their strongest. Tons of practice paid off and gave them big wins. This experience will show against a revamped EFlow squad.
I see jCp winning this one and the suspension of haze on the Even flow roster does not help their already dieing seasons situation.
A comfortable win from jCp to say the least, even with eflow's recent pickups I dont see them holding it together in this match.
