Get ready for some very fast paced matches that will probably end in about 15-20 minutes this week on Collapsed Tunnel.

Only two weeks remain in this season of CAL Invite. 12 teams were invited to participate in CAL-I and the 8 week season schedule was released at the beginning of the season. Before the season kicked off some shuffling was done to restructure the league better. After 3 weeks of play, United 5 decided to hang it up and call it quits as a couple of starters went inactive. After the 4th week was complete, Nerve Damage was the next victim of inactivity, but rather than forfeit their remaining matches they are trying to finish it out playing shorthanded each week. We've also recently learned that overRated will not be finishing out the CAL Invite Season. The first match they forfeitted was claimed to be intentional since they didn't believe they needed the win to make the playoffs, but as we see now they weren't intending on finishing the season either way.
The Week 7 matches will be played on the flash 'n spam friendly map of Collapsed Tunnel. Timing is everything in this map. Getting down the stairs quickly without getting stuck at the door is the first thing on your mind, plus avoiding spam fire up top in the first few seconds. After that it's all about timing your flashes and spam, the top teams will execute both of these to perfection. Normally rounds don't last more than 1 minute or maybe 1:30 unless it goes down to a 1v1. With the reduced flash effect in the current version of AA, you have to execute kills on blind enemies quickly so as not to let them get their vision/hearing back, which makes the fights that much more aggressive and exciting.
This week we will only cover the 3 matches that should be played, as the other 3 will be forfeited. Even with 3 teams dropping, there is still a lot on the line this week. Our 3 predictors for this week are Mr.Clean, Chris of Mug 'N Mouse since they have a bye, and Pimpin of Rising Storm since they will win their match via forfeit. .
After dropping the first match of the season IceNine has won 5 in a row, and will be looking to extend that this week. Substance from the team Animus has plenty of experience on tunnel. He'll need to be at his best to beat the red hot IceNine squad. It doesn't look terribly promising for Animus seeing as they were recently defeated in CEVO on tunnel by Lost Cause. If they can pull it together and execute better this week, then we could see an upset here.

IceNine is on a path of destruction this season. If Animus preps for this one they'll have a great chance to win, but I'll pick i9 winning ever so slightly 8-6.
|
Despite hackusations from multiple people/teams in the community IceNine seems to be doing things right. Look for them to dominate Animus and clinch 1st place in their division. 10-4 i9.

As long as whiz and sani are playing, the other team doesnt stand a chance.

Even Flow finally came up with their 2nd win of the season last week with a surprising win over Final Destination-I. This was once a very solid map for this team, and if they can get together a solid starting 4 roster, they'll put up a tough match this week. eFlow only managed to beat FightClub in OT in the recent CEVO tunnel match, they'll need to pick it up considering fc's worst map is most definitely tunnel. Dropouts had very constrasting results in their 2 tunnel matches last week. They beat up on Unreasonable Ownage 11-1 in TWL, and lost to Rising Storm 8-1 in CEVO. Not that it means a whole lot since rS is far far better than U. Dropouts should be the favorites here, but they can't take eFlow too lightly.

Even Flow isn't a pushover on tunnel, but Dropouts are just better IMO. Dropouts clutches the final round for the 8-6 win.
|
I'm not sure how active eFlow is but none the less drp is still better than them on this map. Depending how much drp cares about this match will determine how bad they beat eFlow. 9-5 drp.
|
Dropouts are looking for a good win to get ready for what looks like a playoff berth. Even flow hasn't shown anything that tells me that they are ready to battle against this massive squad.

I'm not sure what has gone wrong with Final Destination, as Redemption last year I'm pretty sure they had a beastly record like 7-1. This season looked solid for the first half, especially after uspetting overRated in week 3. The wheels have started to fall off, as FD-i lost to Dropouts and Even Flow the past 2 matches. At least both those losses were close. It won't get any easier this week as they face #1 ranked jCp. The good thing for FD-i is that jCp often struggles on tunnel. The bad thing is jCp has a vision of a perfect season so they will most likely be prepared. I'm not sure if any team has had a perfect CAL Invite season, could jCp be the first?

I'm not quite sure who's active for FD-i right now, but it seems they aren't into it as much as past seasons. It's too bad since they would otherwise have a chance against jCp on their weak map. 10-4 jCp > FD-i.
|
From my own experience with jCp and from what I have seen from them recently on this map they are not very good on it. However fd doesnt really care and that will be the only reason why they lose. jCp > fd-i 9-5.

just Cause project isn't losing anytime soon, and they will only lose to rS.
