America's Army: Chicago LAN - Round Robin Results

By: Dave Munro - Published July 24, 2008 at 1:06 PM EDT - Writer Archive
Late Friday and early Saturday and round robin was held to determine the seedings for Saturday's main event of a double elimination tournament.
Friday evening the 16 teams of the Chicago Summer '08 LAN were filled up with 4 players per team totalling 67 players registered and present. At this point chris, clean, and stan reviewed all the team rosters and determined 4 groups of teams based on each teams strength. We put the most experienced and highly skilled teams in the top group all the way down to unknown teams or less experienced teams in the bottom group.

In the end this made for close matches in the round robin tournament, which would be used to determine the seedings from 1-16. Unfortunately darkstar had some delays in setting up the servers and we had to go with comms using old school teamspeak instead of ventrilo. All these delays caused us to get started very late, and many players became very tired after lack of rest during a long day of driving.

The first 2 rounds of 3 for the round-robin were completed Friday night with most of the 3rd round matches taking place Saturday morning. The round-robin was complete before noon on Saturday and the results are shown in the gotfrag story in the link below. I will update the scoreboard if I get logs or find out more accurate scores.
