It's been a long and winding road, but the Cyber Amateur League's America's Army Invite division Finals match is finally here. Just Cause Project takes on Team Mediocrity, the former Mug N' Mouse team. After a hectic season, disappearing league administrators, and match delays, the CAL-i Finals are finally ready to be played. It comes down to Just Cause Project and Team Mediocrity. The Finals match will be in a Best of Three format with each teams picking a map 15 minutes before playtime. Each team will be the "home" team for which map they choose. Regular overtime rules still apply (two on each side until there is a winner). If each team wins one map, then the match will go to Urban Assault, the tie-breaker map. Due to the formatting of these matches, the outcome could bring either team out on top. It really makes for an exciting match up between the two top teams. If you remember correctly, this isn't the first time that Just Cause Project and Team Mediocrity have met up together in a Finals match this year. Back in April, the two teams met up competing to be CEVO Champions in a Best of Three format. Team Mediocrity, who was still Mug N' Mouse at the time, selected MOUT McKenna as their map, and Just Cause Project chose team-favorite Insurgent Camp as their map, and of course Urban Assault was the format regular third. The selection was a wise choice for Team Mediocrity due to Just Cause Project's losses were all on MOUT; however, jCp won the map due to working on their strats and preparing. Playing Insurgent Camp, Chris "chrones" Sansone picked up where his team had left off on MOUT McKenna and fought their way into Urban Assault by tying the score on IC 7-7. There is also some controversy regarding the match being delayed for as long as it has. Through information that was gathered by the staff here at GotFrag.aa, the match was delayed several times due to Final Destination disputing Just Cause Project for "smoking through walls". jCp won the dispute and then some unfortunate events happened regarding a member of jCp's family and then again with med's. According to Team Mediocrity's Chris "chrones" Sansone: The match was postponed 3 times. With a long season ended and some complications arising throughout the playoffs, the Cyber Amateur League is finally forcing the match to be played. -jCp. (9-1) vs. med! and the whole reason why we haven't played is because they don't wanna find someone on their 12 man roster to replace stan because then they wont have their "BEST 4".
Thanks.
From what I heard med picked SF Recon and lost 8-0, jCp picked SF Sandstorm and won 8-2 to sweep the finals. Seems like med wanted to show jCp how little they cared so they picked Recon haha.
