From a relatively unknown and well-mocked team called Carbon 8 to the formation of Disturbing The Peace and winning the coveted CAL Open Championship and earning their way into CAL Main, GotFrag.com takes a look at dTp as a whole and finds out a little bit about the team. The roots were placed in a team called Carbon 8. All the players were relatively unknown. The team received some hassle from the competitive community; however, it would be where former Final Destination players, Dominick "apple_cider!" Grande and Jesse "prostyle" Caudill, would find their niche with players that would lead to the predecessor of dTp: eXcessive FeaR. eXcessive FeaR After the demise of Carbon 8 and a short stunt back with former team Final Destination, apple_cider! and prostyle created eXcessive FeaR. The team consisted of former Carbon 8 player Shane "ransum" Ynclan, Donal "Deezy" Breault, prostyle, and apple_cider!. The team lacked a match server and a Ventrilo server, which makes it really hard to operate as a team. With the team missing vital organs that help keep a team running, apple_cider! began looking for sponsorships. The team soon came across Disturbing The Peace. Disturbing The Peace Warren "Pyro" van der Biezen, Disturbing The Peace's CEO, decided to pick up eXcessive FeaR. A decision that would ultimately make or break the newly developed team. "The reason why I took them under my team is because, after speaking with apple, he showed me that he was determined and his team was ready to plow over everything in sight. dTp is known for giving the smaller teams a chance to prove themselves and grow. And that is exactly what they did. I've never seen such a desired and dedicated team, and for them, it paid off. It was all great joy when it was the dTp name they decided to represent," said the organization's CEO. Once picked up by dTp, apple_cider! fought to get his team to replace Deadly Shot in CAL Main. Unable to convince the CAL league administrators to give them the shot, they decided to buck up and fight their way in Open to hopefully get that spot in Main. The team picked up former Carbon 8 leader Shane "ransum" Ynclan, who is known for being the only competitive AA player with one arm, Adrian "sTX" Myles, and Jake "Tank" P. The team eventually made the playoffs and were picked to lose every match; however, playing against the odds, the team managed to make it to the championship against Nerve Damage and, ultimately, defeated them. Ransum has departed from the team due to jumping between focusing on college and then the game, and an altercation with another member. "I really saw it as a loss to the team because he was a really solid player and a good friend, but I knew he had his personal reasons," says apple_cider! of ransum's departure. Ransum now plays for epiC. Now CAL-O Champs and finally their shot in CAL-M, the team has picked up former C8 players Jon "Twitch" Perez and Chirag "Santa" Patel, and Pierre-Luc "pdx" LeBlanc. As a team we really came a long way to win, and regardless of it being CAL-Open, we are all pretty proud of our accomplishment. Current Roster Dominick "apple_cider!"
