America's Army: GotFrag Predictions: CAL-I Week 2

By: Nicholas Huber - Published October 29, 2008 at 6:03 PM EST - Writer Archive
Week 2 of CAL-I gets ready to unfold on Thursday, October 30, 2008. This week's matches will be played on competition favorite MOUT McKenna!

As week two of CAL-I actions gets ready for Thursday, GotFrag, once again, brings you our new prediction format that we unveiled to the viewers last season. This all new prediction series will deliver short and sweet descriptions of each match from the GotFrag staff. We will be bringing in a guest predictor each week, and each predictor has one sentence to predict an outcome on a match and why. This week's match will be played on MOUT McKenna. MOUT McKenna is a fast-paced map where spam and teamwork will be the deciding factor on who walks away a winner.

This week's guest predictors are Kevin "banana_gun" Lowe from Just Cause Project and Michael "misery" Lindow from epiC.

Mediocrity! vs. IceNine.™

Mediocrity is coming off a huge upset by No Excuses last week on Pipeline. The match went into Overtime and nOEx came out the victor with one over med. Mediocrity is facing off against IceNine this week. IceNine is walking into Week 2 with a win against epiC. Both teams have the experience needed to win, but which will prevail? I guess we’ll just have to find out.

Mediocrity will beat IceNine by one or two rounds. It really depends on who is available to play for Mediocrity.

I heard Rabb can't play this week, so I'm going with i9 but it will be close.

med! vs i9 will actually be close, but seeing how med! has been around longer with the same roster, I think they'll pull through, especially if Rabb and Spank play.

No Said Date vs. No Excuses

No Said Date is coming into this one with a loss by Audigy. They will be facing No Excuses this week. No Excuses is coming into this week with a huge victory over Mediocrity. Nsd is hoping to get their record to 1-1, and I know nOEx would like to see themselves at 2-0. Both of these teams are lower Tiers than most of the Invite teams; however, this doesn’t mean this will not be a good match or that these teams are good. They are both on the Invite level for a reason.

This will be a very close match, possibly going into Overtime, leaving nOEx as the match's victor. It really just depends who has it together more this week.
If nOEx practices, they should take nsd by a few rounds.

nOEx vs nsd will also be a close match. Both teams aren't that great, but they each have a star player. Depending on the line up, I'm going to say nOEx pulls through.

Ironmen vs. epiC

The Euros suffered a devastating defeat last week against Just Cause Project. They have recently stated that they will be an all Euro team and no players from Innovation (Instruments of Allah) will be competing this season. The EUs will be facing epiC this week on MOUT. epiC has picked up Entyce, the kid who recently bought his way on to Audigy, and he is a known MOUT whore. It will be interesting to see how the Euros will match up against Entyce, misery, and company.

epiC will dominate the Ironeuros, probably with Entyce and misery alone, and will definitely make the opposing team rethink their stay in the NA competitive  scene.

If epiC can just use gay tactics, they can win.

epiC will make Eurotrip want to compete in EU leagues after this match, because misery knows their strats and will dominate their entire roster.

Audigy vs. -Just Cause Project.™

No doubt that Just Cause Project against Audigy will be the MOTW. Just Cause Project is coming into Week 2 with a win against the Euros (surprise, surprise) and are looking to achieve yet another CAL-I title. Audigy is coming into this week with a win as well. These two teams are definitely two of the best, and I’m sure the demos will be good to watch. Can Chief Jonny and his army march and take the victory or will jCp stand their ground?

This is definitely going to be a great match up. It's really hard predicting this one, but I'm going to give jCp the benefit of the doubt, but I'd like to see Audigy pull this off.

If -jCp. can handle the marching by aud, they should come out with the victory.

Audigy will reign upon jCp due to the fact their using Proton, Jon, mofo, and Hendrix. They're coming in with little practice but, its Audigy.
