Once again, GotFrag brings you the latest news and speculation regarding the future America's Army 3.0 release. This time we bring you news of the AGP discussing the possibility of porting three additional maps over to 3.0 from the current 2.x.x series. Weapons Cache, Insurgent Camp, and Bridge SE have been under consideration for being brought to the newest version of AA. Players were recently informed that Pipeline would be the first map that would be brought over to the new version. "I'm just going on what I was originally informed of, 4 weeks ago, when the maps were being discussed, so nothing is official yet," the source said. Chris "chrones" Sansone has also stated that if Insurgent Camp does not end up being ported over, another player and himself would recreate the map if a Mission Editor becomes available for 3.0. This news can definitely ease the mind of some players, who have made an emphasis that 3.0 could either make us or break us in the competitive scene. The number of players has rapidly decreased in the last year. Based on the Unreal Engine 3, this version is said to put emphasis on graphical performance and on graphical flexibility to cover a greater range of PCs, as well as decreased size for the full version download. |

Here is an example of my modified version of Urban Assault (Upper Yellow building, Lower Yellow Building, Guard Booth at lower East stairs). Like I said I know very little about the editor but I can do basic stuff and can help wherever possible.

med!metal on the other hand knows plenty about the editor and im 100% sure he has enough knowledge to build a basic map like IC. Here is an example of metals work from scratch its a map he calls Gorge Mine:

I'm sure other popular and small maps such as Mout McKenna and Collapsed Tunnel shouldn't be too hard either. After all, all we will need to do is open up the 2.x.x version of the map and we have the exact layout of the map right in front of us with every detail and you can ask any mapper that is the hard part thinking of a good layout.
Also to comment on the "if the editor is released with 3.0" statement. Metal was on the "www.aa-maps.net" mapping team that was making maps for AA (Aimway anyone lol) before the editor was released.
Edit - It would also be nice to have people such as iZi and *gasp* h0b0 back and making maps if we so needed.
Remove that and bring over Urban Assault.
