GotFrag's Louis Brill investigates Rabb's recent CAL ban. During CAL-Invite Week 5, Mediocrity was scheduled to play Zeratul's Army. Both teams agreed to play Collapsed Tunnel instead of the default map, Bridge SE. 3 days later, CAL ACS logs produced irrefutable evidence that Rabb was, indeed, cheating. In the screenshot, 2 OpFor can be seen through walls. It turns out that Rabb's excuse of his video card "artifacting" during gameplay was more or less a blatant lie. ![]() I spoke with Chris "chrones" Sansone about his opinion on the matter. Originally, Chris never thought Rabb cheated and allowed him to join Mediocrity. (Mug N' Mouse at the time) Here are a few things he had to say: med!chrones|E-Rev: rabb is not cut and i will probably let him back on my team when 3.0 rolls around and he evades Chris was clearly joking about keeping Rabb. Sadly, Roland "braindamage" Leschkies admitted to cheating in a pub at the time of Rabb's ban. Mediocrity called a vote to kick out Rabb and Braindamage, and it passed. Most controversy regarding Rabb began just after joining overRated. According to Mitch "epic" Kahring and Matt "scarface" Scalone, Rabb demonstrated incredulous gameplay during his brief stay in overRated. On the other hand, Dylan "osiris" Zurawell was a good friend with Rabb and denied there was any evidence of him cheating. Osiris stated that he would leave overRated if Rabb was cut. As a result of this, Scarface would not let Rabb play in any matches and presumed that Rabb would leave on his own accord. Scarface was correct and shortly after Rabb departed. I had a long conversation with Scarface; you can read the Xfire conversation here. Remaining on subject, there seems to be a "hacking spree" from players within the community. It is rumored that competitive players are cheating as much as they can before America's Army 3.0 is released. Andrew "Hendrix" Girdler and Michael "Misery" Lindow have both admitted to distributing and using hacks in public servers. There seems to be end in sight to this blatant cheating especially with Punkbuster having no effect on the undetected private framework cheats. Although Rabb boasts that he will never be caught in 3.0, I strongly doubt it with everybody knowing who he is. |
