The first round of the Eurocup is decided. There were some major upsets. How will Round 2 turn out? Pistol "Disorder" Pete gives his insight ![]() A new season of the Eurocup, the most important online BF2 competition in Europe, has kicked off and what an exciting Eurocup it promises to be! We have some new admins (stefan, shadow, soulfly and moonstar) who are eager to provide you the best coverage possible and have already publicized some great team interviews! Keep it up guys! Really, really nice. Of course, no one less then The Swede of BFTV, Gamer FM and Game TV will provide awesome shoutcasting coverage. We hope these guys will set the Eurocup as their PRIME TARGET and host some top shows on this A+ tournament. Also, it's nice to see this time, no wildcards are used and the matches will be played when they should be. Of course it's quite sad we won't see teams like Kompaniet, EXiT11, Boomtown among others involved. Also, I would have loved seeing Plan-B participating... Still, there are some very nice new promising teams involved who won't go down without a very tough fight! Among these, we have xGx, a relatively new Swedish team but quite a tough cookie. They went undefeated so far in BF2 untill they met Code7 in the first round in the Eurocup. First loss for xGx but no shame there! Keep an eye on these guys as they will surely deal some punishment in the remaining Eurocup! We also have Voodoo, the Polish runners-up of the Polish Championship who have destroyed RedCode last weekend. An amazing performance and it will be interesting to see how they will perform in future face-offs. Next is dsr, a Norwegian squad and Up-North runners-up. A powerfull infantry core and great teamplay makes them a dangerous team. FBI, now known as Cooltronic, were their first victims. Also, it's really nice to see the French SoD involved in this Eurocup. They have booked some solid performances recently and they really deserve being in this great competition. Finally we can be really excited about cZar. They are a merge of players of all kind of scenes. My experience said "these kind of things never work out" but hey! Was I wrong! In the first round they dominated no one less then Team Wilda both on Sharqi and Daqing! Wow! What would the Eurocup be without a nice prize purse? Here they are: ° Winner: $600 + 8 x glory ° Second Place: $300 ° Third Place: $200 Favourites to win this one are Dignitas.de, Code7, Wilda, Pod.bf2 and Logitech. And indeed, we are back with Eurocup coverage. We will provide basic coverage on the groupstage. Once, the play-offs kick in, we will step up the pace and provide even more profound coverage. Eurocup time, baby!!!! |
