In a great final, Code7 were the better part of EXiT11 Code7 has won the World Tournament of Battlefield 2. More then 500 clans started this great online event 6 months ago. Now we finally know the winner: Code7. They have beaten EXiT11 twice on Mashtuur in the final: 88-0, 0-49, 131-0, 0-115. Code7 needed to win the map twice due to the fact they came from the lower bracket (EXiT11 has beaten Code7 in the upper bracket final on Oman). You can download the demos here. The MVP prizes were given by TSN to: 1. Speedyheadshot - codeseven (FX-57) 2. Kalma - codeseven (Corsair Professional memory) 3. BruceLee - EXiT11 (BF2-jacket). It's no surprise seeing Code7 grab the title, as they have beaten EXiT11 before on Mashtuur with big numbers in the CAL.eu final. Congrats to them of course. EXiT11 has grabbed the second place and that's a well deserved one. They are the second best team in Europe for quite some time now, and by consequence the 2d best in the world. We need to thank Stealth and his crew for organising this great event. This has been very important for the Battlefield 2 community, and overall he has done a very good job. With Code7 grabbing the title, they have released a press-release (see next page) announcing their retreat from competitive BF2. This, only a few days after Team HOT announced their retreat from BF2 as well. It is to be expected that EXiT11 will quit soon as well. This makes the future of BF2 even more interesting as it will be great to find out who will take over the top of the American and European Battlefield scene. In Europe, this will be decided in the CB Eurocup. In the US, it seems 20ID is on their way back to the top. Last but not least. We all know the WT of BF2 was surrounded with big rivalry between the American and European scene. How has this one turned out? Well, even I have lost the count, but it's a FACT that the European teams have dominated the American teams allover the tournament. Indeed, where in BFV the quality of the teams was equal (an American team won, European teams took 2d and 3d, but more European teams have beaten American teams then otherwise), the quality of the US teams in BF2 has been extremely disappointing. Only Team HOT could compete with the best of Europe (with very impressive victories against Wilda and Dignitas!). And compete is a good word as they fell short of the very best teams. How is this possible? The answer is clear and simple: while the top of the BF42 scene in the US moved on to BFV, the very best of the BF42 scene of Europe didn't care about BFV and was still involved in competitive BF42. In BF2, all the best players from both scenes (EU and US) were present with the logic consequence: EU > US. So, this one is over. It has been superb, we have had great laughs, shared great flames, the yanks got owned and Code7 grabs the gold! See you in BF2142:WT!! Page:
