GeneralGump from ~*SoV*~ is hosting his second 8v8 BF1942 Tournament this summer, starting in mid-June. The tournament will run a classic 8v8 style, along with possibly even 5v5 Infantry rounds in between! GeneralGump from ~*SoV*~ recently announced that he will be running a second BF1942 tournament. Gump ran one in the Fall season of 2005 that was very successful, and hes always active in the community and produces a video at the end of each tournament. The tournament is free to signup and free to play, and although there are no prizes its all about having fun and going back to the glory days of 1942. Both European and American teams are allowed to participate, although it hasn't been decided what would happen server-wise when two teams from seperate sides of the ocean faced off. In the last tournament there was one European team that participated and they generally played on American servers, but Gump has said this can be negotiated and changed if there is enough European interest. Signups and other information regarding the tournament can be found here: http://soldiersofvirtue.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=18 Much interest in 1942 has come up as of recently, and everyone already participating is hoping for a great turnout especially after such a disappointing 1.3 patch in Battlefield 2. With a great deal of time before the release of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars or Battlefield 2142, many are hoping for a great turnout in this tournament. With all that time to make up for - why not give it a shot? You can easily pickup Battlefield 1942 at your local bargain bin for a mere $7-10 dollars, and possibly get all expansions for less than $15-20 dollars! Its a great deal to experience BF1942 in a competitive atmosphere for what could very well be the last time.
