Here we are, already at week 6 with half of Main remaining and its not even playoffs! Teams are dropping like flies as BF2 approaches its competitive death. Still, there are predictions to be done so lets get started. Week 5 Review Week 5 proved to be a surprising week, especially for Main. Redemption announced their resignation from BF2 while Fadeight shocked the world when they sweeped NET on Dragon Valley despite all odds. Team Nemesis took a surprising win against a strong iHOT that was recently re-enforced with some Team HOT players in a 2-0 victory. 20ID took a strong win once again to a very powerful ground team that is Special-K. All in all, every match in Main resulted in a 2-0 win for the victor with the exception of First Line vs. Team Dynamic which came down to 3 rounds. In Open things ran pretty much as expected, except one match in particular which was Match of the Week - Eviscerate vs. 20ID: Team Poppycock. Most were in favor for Eviscerate because of their strong chopper crew and equally strong ground team, but some how Poppycock was able to take the win in 3 on a match that could of easily been one of the best shoutcasts ever if the cast wasn't plagued by problems. [20ID]King pulled off an amazing tank shot against Eviscerate's chopper duo that can be seen here which is absolutely amazing, despite being pretty lucky. Team Warchild and Team 2Illicit faced off in a match plagued by problems as one of 2Illicit's main ground pounders disconnected early in the beginning of the first round and Warchild's chopper crew ended up disconnecting during the middle of the second round. It apparently took Warchild nearly 5 minutes before realizing their solo-guiding chopper pilot had disconnected which was pretty hilarious if I don't say so myself. The match went to a third round in which 87 was replaced by WickedCityHax who played a strong performance and allowed Warchild to take the win and remain undefeated. Week 6 Preview Coming into Week 6, arguably the most important match in Main comes down to Fadeight vs. Warchild. Warchild has been suffering from problems recently, and after a major rebuilding and some internal drama in the team they are trying to get back on track to finish they they started. Fadeight is coming strong as one of the underdog teams this season and are so strong I dare say they may make a finals appearance this season if they keep at it. With Warchild's shocking loss to First Line last week, this match can either make or break them as far as BF2 is concerned. In Open, the two most notable matches include two undefeated teams in 20ID: Team Poppycock and Spec Ops Exec facing off. Both teams are coming out strong this season after crushing every opponent they've had. Looking at SOE's record one can't help but be impressed as they are surely an underdog team after absolutely crushing every team they have played 2-0. Although not much is known about the team, this is definitely their week to prove themselves. Are SOE truly a juggernaught force in Open as their record depicts, or have they had just a very lax schedule? This is the week the community finds out. The recent 1.3 patch is going to make a huge impact in matches this week. Expect a lot of upsets because not every team will be well adjusted, and not only that, but due to the recent patch a lot of teams just plain out don't care for the game anymore. As unfortunate as that is, I myself can say I'm feeling the same blues so I can't protest against it. |
