After an amazing week of upsets, Week 7 arrives on Dalian Plant. Once used as a championship-decising map, it now serves its purpose in the regular season. With the Type98 to US Buggy Jeep pixel being practically disabled, the map is much more balanced than before. Dalian will be the location for some quality matchups between some of the best teams, especially in Open... ![]() Week 6 Review Week 6 turned out to be probably the most amazing week of upsets yet. In Open the community witnessed the shock win of the year when 6th Armored Division upsetted Eviscerate and destroyed them in 2 rounds - one being a capout. Although this match has gone under much speculation regarding 6thAD's ethics, its still a win and a very solid win at that in 2 rounds and despite the speculation 6thAD has turned out to be a team to watch out for. In Main however, upsets were everywhere. Despite a lot of drama concerning the match, Fadeight was able to take down Warchild in 2 rounds in a shoutcasted match that many watched on EGLN. The Network of Exceeding Tactics also took home their first big loss in a major upset by losing 2-0 to Team Nemesis in a match that no one had predicted in Nemesis's favor. Almost everyone expected the Season 2 Open Champs to come out strong and roll Nemesis, but that just wasn't the case and instead was vise versa. Finally, the Rebels of Mankind also proved they are determined to get back on track last week and took down Team Dynamic in a close 3 rounds. Week 7 Preview Week 7 proves to be the most eventful week yet for Open, as we see the top 4 teams facing off to decide who still belongs on top. Although the MOTW on the CAL forums was decidely voted to be 20ID: Poppycock vs. Team Warchild, it appears as if the shoutcasted match this week will be none other than Man Up vs. Team Illicit. All four of the teams are in the top of their respective conferences, and all four are also seemingly undefeated. Poppycock & Warchildren both stand at 6-0 and have only lost a round each, both rounds going to their opponents on Dragon Valley. Poppycock narrowly beat a strong Eviscerate in 3 rounds due to some hack tank shooting, while Warchildren took down a strong 2Illicit in a match plagued by server problems. Man Up and Team Illicit appear to be the stronger teams on paper so far, as neither have lost a round to any team yet so far this season - including on Dragon Valley. Man Up took down a pretty strong Bloody Scotsmen in 2 rounds while Illicit took down ... nycff? Yeah.. anyway. Week 7 is a clutch week for a lot of teams that are in danger of missing playoffs. With only Karkand left to be played, any team in danger of losing their playoff seed must bring everything they have to the table in order to secure it. So, with that said, lets get on with some predictions.. |
