Prizes have been announced for the CPL BF2 5v5 BYOC Tourny.

Update on CPL BF2 5v5 BYOC Tournament

CAL is pleased to announce that Insomnia365 will be the primary sponsor of the Battlefield 2 5v5 Infantry Only BYOC Tournament. Confirmed prizes for this unofficial tournament, managed by CAL, will be:

First Place
$1,000 and a free server for one year – Courtesy of Insomnia365
Six Razer Copperhead™ Gaming Mice – Courtesy of Razer
Six PhysX cards - Courtesy of AGEIA

Second Place
$750 and a free server for six months – Courtesy of Insomnia365

Third Place

Looks like no one wants to sponsor BF2 either

Nice line-up. BF2 has had top prizes in europe sponsored by EA (5.000-7.000 euros). But no way EA is going to sponsor any BF2 compo again, as they want to promote BF2142 now.

If you wanna be "pro" and play for the money, you'll have to make the step to 2142. But I can't see many European top-teams doing it.

2142 is to bf2 what vietnam was to bf42. I believe many more american topteams will make the switch then european ones.

glad the response was better for this than, 3 years ago with 1942- sucks i dont play bf2. hope everyone has a great time.

on another note though. isnt it in the cpl rules only 1 team can represent an organisation/clan?

shouldn't they just get 5 mice and PhysX cards

5 players and usually 1 manager. Or they will just chop the last last card into 5 pieces and split it.

Would be a better turnout of teams if the prize money was better. Teams spend more money making it to dallas then the prize money.

#7 it's clear EA won't sponsor an old game anymore but will focus on 2142. In Europe, the compo's or LAN's with the biggest prizemoney were all sponsored by EA thereselves.
