Battlefield 2: Rolling Thunder League Announced

The Total Gaming League announces PC Gamer sponsored tournament.
The PC Gamer Magazine Rolling Thunder Tournament is being played on the latest release from EA Games, the Battlefield 2142 Northern Strike booster pack. The tournament is scheduled to start on Sunday, March 18th 2007.

*You must have a valid copy of Northern Strike to participate in this event. All cash winners will need to provide tax information before payout.

Below you will find details concerning the tournament format and prize structure.
The Tournament

The PC Gamer Magazine Rolling Thunder Battlefield 2142 Northern Strike Tournament will be 4-8 weeks long depending on the amount of registered teams. The registration of 32 teams’ means there will be a 4 week tournament, while 256 registered teams would require an 8 week tournament. The tournament is single elimination and signups open on Thursday, February 22nd. One round will be played per week; Sunday will be the default match day and 9:30 PM EST will be the default match time. A seeding process would be used to pre-rank as many teams as possible; teams that lack sufficient history or other necessary seeding criteria will be randomly seeded.

Seeding

Registered teams will be pre-seeded as best as possible based on the following factors:

* Win-Loss record for TGL BF2142 - Primary Seeding Criteria
* Win-Loss record for CAL BF2142
* Win-Loss record for TWL BF2142
* Overall Battlefield Series Team History
* Overall Team History

Any team that lacks sufficient seeding criteria will be randomly seeded at the discretion of tournament admins and staff.
