Lost Rank? (Cod4)

This has happened to me twice now, and really starting to wind me up >.<
Just got up to lvl 38 or something. Go and play fukuu in a war and all of a sudden I've lost all my ranking again ffs.
Does anyone know what the cause of this is? Or even better.. how to fix it???

Might be their server - some badly set up servers wipe your rank, you have to keep backing it up

what I do is, after every RANK up or lvl reach, I alt-tab to windows, and copy/paste the cod4/players folder to some other place, so that I had a back up if it ever happened again.

And it did. I copy pasted back, and I was fine, losing 200 XP points only :)

i had mine reset but i dnt really care.

oh my god! its a pub hero NONONO DIEDIEDIE! Lets all flame at a guy who plays in pub now & then and likes when he gets a positive score instead of some that get 1/10 and say "pubcare". now, die alone.

lol ranks are sh*t and useless imho, only pubhero's care. Also Activision should have used a remote online storage for ranks. If you now how to edit the profile file you can easily edit your own rank. I tested it and fixed up my own ration with 500 kills and 0 deaths and rank 50. Can go up more but i dont care about the ranks, was just testing out some stuff.

Go on http://www.getlevel55.com to unlock level 55 and grade Marshal for Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer. Get simply all weapons, skins, accessories and challenges !

I 1st time in my life, hear that thing.

rank really doesn't matter much.

all u need unlocked:

perks:
steady aim
stopping power
3 nades (optional)

guns:
ak
mp5 (red-dot)
ak47su
sniper (@ lvl 44...maybe)

i use ak and mp5 + those perks only. average about 100 kills per hour, can get back to lvl 55 in no time.

this was posted in november when the game came out so i doubt he really wants his rank back anymore because PAM has been implemented <3
