K so i found the website but where do I put the cfg or commands? Im used to cs 1.6 and have no idea where the cfg folder is. Also isn't there mods out that are allowed?
i dont really understand what you mean by mods or what ever but if you mean stuff like gui then no. but configs go in your C:\program files\activision\call of duty 4: modern warfare\players\[profile name]\ folder. copy and past it over the config_mp.cfg thats already in that profile folder.
you might want to add these commands once in game: snaps 30 cl_maxpackets 100
the yitch2 config wasnt made for registry so change those.
1) I renamed the yitch2 to config_mp.cfg 2) I placed it into the folder 3) When I reloaded cod it was back to default like how it came when I first got it...
1. Open yitch2.cfg in WORDPAD (Much better than notepad for it) 2. Have a quick scan of the dvars, makes sure the res and refresh rate in particular aren't to high. Although I highly doubt they will be. 2.1 If you have a config with your binds in already and don't fancy setting them again just paste them over to the yitch2 one. 3. Save as 'All files' name it 'config_mp.cfg'. Either direct save it to [X]:\Program files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\[profile name]\ or drag it there afterwards. Just overwrite the old one. 3.1 If you don't have a '[player name]' folder. Start call of duty 4 MULTIPLAYER then it will ask you to do it. Don't do anything else other than that. Close it, navigate to the profile folder you just created and continue. 4. Start Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare Multiplayer. You will get a box that looks like this: http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/636/co.. You click no. No is the box you click. Not yes, Not nothing, No. I am stressing that you click no as that is the part you are struggling on. After you have click no, you will then proceed to set up your key bindings and maybe change the res and refresh rate, NOTHING ELSE GRAPHIC WISE OR IT DEFIES THE POINT OF FPS CONFIGS. You may also want to change the name, sensitivity and so on.
Note: If you click no your graphic settings will go default.
I think that is quite clear, if you or anybody struggles ever with a config, they need to think quite a lot more.
I'm guessing his problem is that he doesn't have hide file extensions for known filetypes disabled. So when he renames it, hes actually renaming it to config_mp.cfg.cfg which won't work. Click Start | Run | type explorer and hit enter. Go to Tools on the menu bar, click Folder Options | View | uncheck hide extensions for known file types. Then follow the above instructions.

Load up CoD4 and do: /exec yitch2.cfg and then /vid_restart

If you need to do it, just right click the file and set to read only.

EDIT: Does lowering your resolution increase your fps?
