when i play cod2 or cod4 i would "skip" like i have lag, my pings are fine, my computer temps are fine also. i only see this in these two games. help would really be nice!
*edit* could it be a routing problem? or a bad nic driver? and yes my computer is free from viruses and its been defraged....
QUOTE: the lagometer in both games says my connection is fine but the above half shows rigid blue......
well that means your are getting fps spikes! xfire can give you minor fps pikes but only to some people. try reinstalling xfire if you even use it. Wireless Zero Config does nothing unless you run off of WLAN. With you saying you get 250 fps constant turning off your AV's would not make a difference. Try re-downloading the PB files off the website.
i know you said the top was to blame (which is the fps half of the lag-o-meter) but on the slight chance the bottom cuts out two, try running without your router if you are happening to use a router.
You may also have a crap load of uneeded files your computer such as cache taking up space to I would also recommend looking for the program CCleaner. It's very good and helpful. It's under the files tab to the left.
I had that with a wireless connection to my router. Turning the Wireless Zero Config startup to disabled fixed it, like #14 said. If you're on a wired connection try setting pb_sleep to 500 in your config.
cod problems oh noes!!!!

a simple "oh no" will do
and turn your av off while you play because that can cause problems too
