decent gaming PC

I have a great PC, cost me £700 for all the stuff so it's not about me, but I was wondering if there were any PCs around £200 - £300 that could run COD4 comfortably on 125 fps :)

If anyone could help me out, that would be great.

P.S. Don't give me links to overclockers, dabs etc. because I'd rather it was an already built PC, although I'd kinda be willing to build it.

I seriously doubt it. You get what you pay for generally speaking.

(edit: second hand system might bring you more joy)

I imagine so. Might take some hunting. Ebay is your best bet if you want it pre-built.

I highly doubt you will get a DECENT PC for that price range but if you have your current PC with PCI-E then you can buy a really good set of important components for that. Graphics Card for £150-200 would do the job..

Don't buy pre-built, you'd get nowhere near 125 for that money. Build it yourself if you can, just read up on the intarwebz. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk forums can be useful if you read around.

My PC (see sig) cost £425 a few months ago, and gets 125 on CoD4 on high settings. PC's now full of crap though so it aint as fast as it used to be.

I'd say: overclock an e2140/2160/2180 to 3ghz ish
ATI 3850
GA-P35-DS3L
2 gigs of DDR2 800
Antec Sonata III with its PSU
160GB drive or w/e you want

Just guessing but that'd probably be around £350, if you can stretch to that.

There are always articles in Custom PC about building/overclocking high spec PCs for really low prices, take a look there and see what takes your fancy but I don't think there was anything as low as £200, maybe £300 at the absolute lowest...
HELLO

I could go to £400 tbh, was just wondering :P

I have a PC Format magazine at work that claimed to build a DX10 system for like, £350.
It was shite though.

of course you can get 125 fps from a 300$ PC
should depend on the resolution you're playing on
but i think it's possible to get 125 fps @ 1280x1024
8600GT (80$) + intel dual core processor (70$), and some cheap mobo,hdd,ddr,psu for 150$ (second hand maybe :P )
on my old pc (6600gt, a64 3000+) i was running cod4@60fps on 1280x1024, lowering res definately helps you gain stable 125 fps
and of course, modified vga drivers and good cfg helps a lot

#21 8600GT is pretty bad and I doubt it'll get 125. Also, he's talking about £ not $

8600GT is the biggest bang for your buck card out there. Have fun paying 250-350 for your 8800GT! I run CoD4 at 125 stable with a E6650 Core 2 Duo, nVidia 8600GT, and 4GB of RAM, AND Vista...
