Gotfrag's Phill Palmer sits down with Cheets, one of the more open-minded CoD2 admins in ClanBase and one considered by many to be a breath of fresh air in what has become an incresingly stale admin team. Henri Koskenranta, aka Cheets, is progressing rapidly through the ranks of the CoD2 admin team over at ClanBase and has been earmarked by many for future success. Currently the Nations Cup Supervisor, Henri's positive outlook and open mind has won him admirers both within the ClanBase organisation and among the wider Call of Duty scene. Born and raised in Jyväskylä, Finland, obvious parallels between himself and the departing EuroCup Supervisor, Teemu "Wabbit" Hillinen, have been drawn but interestingly the two share very different backgrounds. Unlike Wabbit who before taking up his post at ClanBase played with the very best in Europe in DSky, Cheets comes from a simpler background which includes time in a number of what many would describe as "mid skilled" Finnish teams. This has only further motivated him to work hard for the community though and he not only is a member of the ClanBase admin team but the 21 year old also writes for the popular Finnish community site cadred.org. After Wabbit's resignation from his role in organising the Call of Duty 2 EuroCup, Cheets is one of the names that has been repeatadly linked with the position. Gotfrag's Phill Palmer spoke to the man himself about his thoughts on the future of CoD2 and in particular, the role that ClanBase has to play in that... Good evening Henri, to begin with can you tell me a little about your experience in gaming? Well I have played fps games a long time. I started with CS 0.4 and stopped when 1.5 came out. Then I went to the army but after that I got interested in CoD in autumn 2004. I played that first for fun and ended up playing with the clan Legions of Perkele, aka LoP, in United Offensive. Obviously this team isn't so well known as we haven't really really reached a high skill level yeh though we are improving all the time. Like for example when we moved to CoD2 we beat myztc which was big for our players. Now I'm working in Stheno doing some management stuff and for Insignia Cadre writing news. This season I'll be working for ClanBase as the CoD2 Nations Cup S&D Co-Supervisor also. What drives you and what is your motivation for being a CB admin? I wanted to make a change to the game I love so much, I wanted to get CoD2 to be more known game and also I wanted to change the way people see ClanBase. A lot of players don't really take it seriously and I would like to see CB becoming an easier and better place for team that want to achieve something and want to play the game. Being an admin of course means you have to follow the rules and work a lot every day with them but I would like to see more players and teams take them seriously. So basically I wanted people to take ClanBase more seriously and respect the game and people that try to make it bigger and better :) Page:
