Call Of Duty: 4Kings add ETQW, TF2 and PES to academy

4Kings have announced the opening of their new gaming academy which will include new squads for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Team Fortress 2 and Pro Evolution Soccer.
The academy's purpose, according to 4Kings manager Gavin Weeks, is "to delve into the unknown and unexpected" and sees the UK team follow in the footsteps of fellow G7 organization fnatic. The 4Kings academy will start out with four squads, including brand new ET:QW, TF2 and PES teams. These three will join the Call of Duty 4 squad in the new academy, in what constitutes an interesting new departure for the 4Kings organisation.

First up is Point Blank, who will be flying the 4Kings flag in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. Featuring a number of well known faces from games such as ET, RTCW and Call of Duty, this predominantly British side will be attending i33 and CDC4 after Christmas. Cursed-Gaming have also joined up with the academy and will be representing 4Kings in Team Fortress 2. The French side features a number of TFC veterans and has already started well in TF2, winning the ESL release cup. The final new addition to the academy is Gordon "Wallace" Hislop, who is considered one of the strongest Pro Evolution Soccer players in the UK.

4Kings manager Ben Woodward explained that the academy was aiming to "further promote these titles and others" and that 4Kings would like to be considered a part of their development in the professional gaming scene. "On one hand you have PES which is actually very popular but it hasn't seen overwhelming support from eSports teams" Woodward explained, "TF2 on the other hand is only recently released and already has a pro circuit in the USA with CEVO putting up $5000 prize money for it. We're hoping something similar will happen in Europe and if it does, i feel we have the best players possible. Cod4 will obviously become pretty big very quickly, as was proved with CoD2, ETQW is fairly new and has only really had one major tournament thus far, that being Quakecon."
