Dignitas finally pick up a major title after a thrilling final at i33. Kenneth "plaZma" Aulie tells the world just how good it feels. ![]() Kenneth "plaZma" Aulie is swarmed by fans as Dignitas take the final round against TLR in the i33 grand final and he knows as much as anyone on the team just how important this victory is for them. They were underdogs coming into the event and they were far from popular with the crowd tonight. Chants of "T-L-R, T-L-R" had rung around the arena as their plucky opponents put them to the sword time and time again. Yet still it was Dignitas who triumphed, picking up their first major title since CDC1 in 2006. "I feel really, really, really good" he exclaims. "We came into this tournament as underdogs, nobody expected us to finish even top three. Taking down TLR twice, in such close matches, is just a fantastic feeling, I couldn't be feeling better right now. F***ING BRILLIANT". For Aulie, this victory is the perfect answer to critics who have been writing Dignitas off for over a year now. "I wanted to prove people wrong, as a lot of people have been putting us down saying we're not a top team anymore" he admits, "plus I wanted to make our managers happy who have stuck with us for so long. It's just an awesome feeling." Dignitas, coming from the upper bracket, needed to just take one map from two and started well on TLR's choice, mp_crash. "We started on attack, and we totally raged them, Blackmane was playing insanely well and he was basically sniping us rounds. We ended up winning attack eight to four so after that I personally thought we'd win it easily" explains Aulie. ![]() With a sixteen to twelve victory on mp_crash, favorites TLR had squared things up with just Dignitas' map choice to go. Intriguingly they opted for mp_citystreets, one TLR had just overcome Evil Geniuses on. People guessed it was because Dignitas had had a chance to observe how TLR played on it but Aulie admits it was simpler than that. "We've been pretty strong on mp_citystreets recently, raging teams online before this event, so we felt pretty comfortable picking it. We usually pick up six rounds or so on attack, but we couldn't seem to get a whatsoever, and they really just had it locked down on the first half". Page:

gj guys xxx
didnt expect you to win, i guess its all about the leader = )
although the competition @ i33, wasn't THAT good as @ CDC.
Overtime on crash after dignitas leading well with TLR forcing to the 2nd map, TLR running away with it then Dignitas pulling it right back and taking it in overtime.
I really cant think how it could have been a better final.
Thanks to the players throughout the tournament, the VoD's should be up today or tomorrow for the finals with the rest up during the week.
