A return to normalcy for CEVO-Professional was anticipated at the start of week six. The thinking was that everyone would be recovered from NERV, the league would be returning to a competitive map, and the stronger teams would break away from the pack heading into playoffs. As it turns out, week 6 was far more extraordinary than expected. For starters, makeSHIFT turned away Pandemic and Evil Geniuses in back to back matches 14-10. It may prove to be too little too late, but it is an accomplishment nevertheless. After shuffling their entire roster several times this season, a loss to Focal was the final nail in the coffin for ptX/x6 who have since declared themselves dead. Finally, MoB Gaming won their fourth straight match in 6:2 and have never looked better. With only three matches remaining, most of the seeds are locked and secure but CEVO has still been silent on the number of teams being admitted into playoffs.

Week 7:1 is particularly exciting as a lead-in to playoffs because many playoff candidates are matching together. Pandemic faces off with 20id, Frag Dominant gets a shot at MoB Gaming, and Nexus gets the opportunity to close the door further on Guardians. The fight on the bubble is heating up and very few teams remain fully in control of their own destiny and would benefit greatly from those around them taking a loss. The games are set to go live tonight but already three of the four officially scheduled matches do not get underway until Sunday and Monday.
