The CEVO-Professional playoffs get rolling this week as North America's best battle for season one supremacy.
Evil Geniuses have replaced one, Nexus Gaming have forfeited themselves from the event after losing two, and Frag Dominant couldn't resemble their original roster any less, but the show must go on. As they have done in the past, CEVO is following a six team double elimination format for the professional playoffs and the top two seeds are granted first round byes. As the top seed, Pandemic has a bye and awaits the winner of Frag Dominant and MoB Gaming. The two seed, Nexus, are unable to finish the postseason and therefore the round one winner between Guardians and EG moves right along into the upper bracket finals.
Round one is scheduled for tonight, however, EG and Guardians matched yesterday. [G] took the mp_strike match handily at 13-8 and have received a forfeit win over Nexus in round two. Following the acquisition of deny to take Maven's place, EG's fifth for the night was anomoly. Frag Dominaint and MoB Gaming are scheduled to go live tonight at 10:45 EST and the winner will match Pandemic on mp_citystreets Thursday night. The stakes have never been higher for CEVO CoD as the total prize pool this season clocks in at $4250. First prize nets $2125, second place pulls in $1487.50 and third place scores a respectable $637.50. Predictions will return for future rounds and stay tuned to GotFrag for live score updates throughout the tournament.
