The next season of the ESL Major Series is set to feature a €3,000 prize purse for Call of Duty 4.
Although the group stages of the current EMS are only just getting underway, ESL have already announced details for Season III, including a breakdown of the impressive €15,000 prize purse. It has been revealed that Call of Duty 4 will headline the tournament alongside Counter-Strike:Source, with each receiving €3,000 sponsored by Asus and e-bug.de.

This season's Major Series saw the likes of fnatic, MYM and Dignitas compete for €1,500 in cash prizes at the same time that some of Europe's better known sides have boycotted ClanBase's online EuroCup. The increase in prize money for Season III looks set to ensure the participation of the above mentioned teams as well as others as ESL begins to gain in popularity in the European Call of Duty 4 community.

Season III of the Major Series is scheduled to begin later this year but qualification details are expected to be announced this month. More details, including the prize breakdown for other games, can be found on the ESL homepage here.
