Pandemic start their playoff run in a round two meeting with MoB Gaming on mp_citystreets. Pandemic have only been defeated twice this season and one of those losses was handed to them on mp_citystreets. Therefore, it is one of their worst maps. Ignoring the fact that this logic is ridiculous, it speaks to how consistently well Pandemic performs across the board. If I may be serious for a moment, Team Pandemic is not dominant on this map as they are on some others. This revelation is unlikely to cause them much distress, though, seeing as they are still quite strong on whatever map is played. They matched Up-Front on mp_citystreets at NERV LAN and fell behind after a mediocre first half. After catching their groove, Pandemic ran off the last six rounds bringing the game to an end at 13-8. MoB’s history as a team on mp_citystreets is irrelevant. The last time this team matched this map in CEVO their roster included NightFaLL, crow, and NRv. Now it looks something like this: badFishLP, tm, ChimPae, Tyrant, Sintax. In skimming over some articles I occasionally show her, the one comment my girlfriend has made is that this community is full of backstabbing and disloyalty. I wonder what could give anyone that impression, but I digress. What’s more is that ChimPae is only finishing out the season as a member of this roster and is likely to be splitting scrim duties with his new club. If they put the time in with the five that are playing and really get down to brass tacks, I can see MoB having a decent showing in upper round 2. Decent is a polite way of saying that MoB won’t get routed, but believe me when I tell you that they’ll get beat. Nabore has mastered the m16 from both across the map and close range and he will start rounds off with picks that will get MoB disorganized from the word go. Citystreets is less strat oriented in the sense that domination of middle and superior specops play in the connectors can make or break the entire match. One aspect of the map does require careful planning, however, and that would be throwing grenades over rooftops. There are only so many places you can nade on this map, but here is another area where Pandemic are given a healthy advantage. Depending on who elects to start on defense, this match score could vary slightly by two or three rounds, but I don’t anticipate anything being capable of causing an upset here in round two. Pandemic will move ahead to match Guardians on mp_vacant while MoB is destined for a lower bracket face-off with EG. PTW: Nabore, badFishLP
