Call Of Duty: TEX and AEF announce partnership

Following the Saasquaando scandal earlier today, the-eXperience and the Antwerp eSports Festival have announced a renewed cooperation.
The partnership will see the pair involved in increased communication as well as future cooperation on issues such as scheduling, rulesets and even travel arrangements between events. Speaking about the €100,000 "Saasquaando" event announced earlier today, GAMEVIBES CEO Steven Leunens joked that "the hoax led to something positive after all".

Leunens had been in close contact with Roskilde eSports' Jens Christian Ringdal following fears that Saasquaando would clash with both AEF and TEX and even though those fears proved unfounded, the two decided that working together would help to avoid such problems in the future. The one-time rivals have set aside their differences in the best interests of gaming.

"I'm excited about a closer cooperation between the-eXperience and Antwerp eSport Festival and I can only say that this will improve the experience people will get when attending [these events]" said Leunens. "I'm looking at this partnership as something long term that will help improve the standard of competitive tournaments throughout Europe" he continued, "perhaps we can see some other tournaments joining this coalition in the future".

Ringdal explained that the partnership is "not only for this year, but also for the future to avoid collision of the two events". He also echoed Leunens' comment that other event organizers could become involved in the partnership, telling GotFrag he would welcome the inclusion of the likes of Crossfire and callofduty.se.

When contacted, Crossfire director Stuart Saw said that "if either Steven or Jens asked me about this I'd be very open to what they have to say". "However, I'm in regular contact with both of them on a number of issues from events, eSports issues and QuadV so the channel of communication between the three is already pretty warm" he also added. Callofduty.se were unavailable for comment.
