Call Of Duty: Pandemic and EG in CEVO-P Finals

By: Kyle Feeley - Published April 30, 2008 at 4:10 PM EDT - Writer Archive
The long-awaited season one Grand Championship Finals are upon us.
Judging by the way Pandemic and Evil Geniuses have been playing lately, it comes as no surprise that they are the last two standing in CEVO-Professional. EG made their way to the grand finals by routing MoB and Frag Dominant and then avenging their first round loss to Guardians by sliding past them in overtime. Pandemic has stayed on top the whole time, going undefeated in the upper bracket and securing the advantage. Unlike most double elimination tournaments, CEVO essentially plays the finals as a clean slate in a strict best of three. For their maps choices, Pandemic selected mp_strike, EG selected mp_backlot, and the tie break if necessary will be played on mp_citystreets.

Besides another title and some extra money, Pandemic is also motivated by the fact that they are the CEVO-P defending champions. They were victorious over Team Turmoil in the final CEVO-P season for CoD2 back in September. Most of the guys from that team are still around and would like very much to call themselves back to back CEVO-P champions. Accolades and league records aside, in the end it boils down to something a little more tangible. For their efforts, the first place team will score $2125 while the second place team nets $1487.50. The action is set to go live at 10:15 est Thursday night and GotFrag will be here with live score updates.
