Call Of Duty: 50 Calibre picks up Dynamo

By: Kyle Feeley - Published July 03, 2008 at 11:26 PM EDT - Writer Archive
The former Dynamo Gaming team that finished 4th at NERV two weeks ago has joined the 50cal family.
They finished fourth place at NERV LAN, secured an entry into CEVO-Professional’s second season, and tonight Dynamo.CoD4 is no more. The team has instead sworn allegiance under the 50 Calibre banner, an organization that has been absent from CoD for a few months. 50cal’s original CoD4 team had a successful run in the pre-S1 Fight to the Finish tournament before inactivity and personnel issues led to their demise.

This current team has been around with the same core players for quite some time. Going all the way back to when Dirtybirds barely lost to Team Pandemic, you knew that they would be a strong contender if they stuck together. Team co-manager JC “Se1Ko” Gaudet comments: “Joining forces with the 50 Calibre organization is a big achievement for the team. We are not vCoD stars and we have all worked our way up.  I am proud that we are now able to compete with the best in the game. 50 Calibre will help us become more than what we ever wished for; this new home and challenge is exciting.  I truly believe my friends can become more than just a group of players, they will develop their professionalism, their abilities, and for sure their friendship throughout this long-term adventure with 50 Calibre.”

As for the team’s future, 50cal will participate in CEVO-Professional, TGL-Professional, and plans to attend upcoming North American LAN tournaments. Like any top division competitor, their work is cut out, but this group feels they should have no trouble competing. Finally, for all of the French Canadian readers, JC would like to add: “Merci aussi à tous nos confrères québécois qui nous ont supportés depuis nos débuts il y a de sa 2 ans. Grâce à vous, notre passion du e-Sport s'est développé pour atteindre ce que nous sommes aujourd'hui, ce que à quoi nous rêvions l'année passée seulement. Un gros merci particulier à nos amis de KBEC, David "Rez" Rivard, Marc-André "4Glory" Messier, Mathieu Morin de www.topca.ca, Frank "JoueFlux" Lortie et tous les autres qui continuent à nous supporter dans notre évolution dans le merveilleux monde de Call of Duty.”
