Call Of Duty: One more needed to fill CEVO-P

By: Kyle Feeley - Published July 07, 2008 at 11:57 PM EDT - Writer Archive
The four losers from lower bracket round two who had previously thought themselves eliminated have instead been given another chance.
The CEVO-Professional placement tournament reached its end late Monday night, or so we thought. Recent developments with Nexus Gaming have led their s1 team to be removed from its CEVO-Professional position therefore creating the need to fill one more slot. The pro placement event was only designed to fill twelve positions and while it has done so, the final spot must now be fought over by the four clubs that lost in lower bracket round two: Esomenic, Awakening, Bloodline, and rSports. Making the grade after numerous missed opportunities is not necessarily a bad thing. Indeed, the CEVO-P s1 champions Evil Geniuses were only allowed to play in the league after winning a similar post-placement playoff.

The shootout will follow a single elimination format with matches to be played on mp_strike and mp_crash in that order. Taking into consideration this being a last minute adjustment as well as the fact that CEVO-P preseason begins Thursday night, the entire shootout must take place tonight (Tuesday.) Match times are set for 10pm and 11pm EST and they are not negotiable. CEVO has instructed teams that they must show up and play at the specified times if they want another shot at entering CEVO-Professional. The league has spoken, matches begin at 10pm EST, stay locked on GotFrag for live score updates and all other CEVO-Professional news.
