Call Of Duty: MoBdeep, winners at CyGamZ

MoB's first event with their new lineup proves NERV was no fluke.
MoBdeep displayed flashes of LAN brilliance back in June coming away from NERV 2 with a surprising third place finish. Almost immediately afterward, their LAN MVP “MavLP” jumped ship and tagged up x3o. In an effort to dispel the notion that they were carried or that it was a fluke, MoBdeep quickly filled their roster and signed up for the August CyGamZ LAN. Once the dust had settled in Ypsilanti, Michigan, MoBdeep stood alone at the top, champions.

The second CyGamZ CoD4 LAN, held this past Saturday, was a one-day 12 team double elimination tournament. While this cannot compare with NERV events in terms of scope and attendance, there was some good competition and the prize pot was just right. Rounding out the top four places following MoBdeep are LCU pug in second, Eximius in third, and Esomenic in fourth. Each of those three teams, by the way, feel victim to MoBdeep en route to their undefeated bracket run. Team leader Matt “ChimPae” Gomez comments: “Winning CyGamZ was definitely our first step towards establishing ourselves as a top NA team in Call of Duty 4. It feels great to have come out on top, but anything other then winning the event would have been a let down. I am excited with our results as it being our first event together with this lineup and I am looking forward to traveling to nVision to prove ourselves again. Thanks to our sponsors turtlebeach, 180 energy drink, stealthservers, and hurricanehost for their support through all of this.”

For their efforts, MoBdeep netted $1400 in first place prize money. They are presently competing in CEVO-Professional and plan on attending the nVision CoD4 tournament two weeks from now.
