It’s hard to believe that just over a month ago, rSports took down Esomenic in the CEVO placement tournament, earning their right to compete against North America’s best teams. Since that time, they have experienced an increasing lack of interest in the game, finally culminating Thursday night with a 21-3 loss to Focal on mp_crash. Shortly after the loss, the team decided to call it a day and go their separate ways. 2shoes, a former rSports member, had this to say about their death: “We died due to a general lack of interest in CoD4, a recent starter leaving and quitting gaming, and going 0-6 in CEVO-P.” Through three weeks of competition, rSports was dead last in the standings, unable to find a single win.

Alright, I know what you’re thinking: with rSports jumping ship, what does this mean for the rest of CEVO-P? Will any top tier CEVO-A teams be moved up to fill the vacancy this season? Luckily, I was able to get a statement from CEVO|Tannehill on the situation. Here’s what he had to say: “While it’s unfortunate that teams die during the regular season, it’s nothing new. There always seems to be one or two teams that don't finish every season. It's a little bit too late to actually move any teams up to take their place, so nothing will change in regards to teams currently in CEVO-P.”

It is currently unknown at this time whether the former rSports members will be joining new teams. Make sure you stick with GotFrag for all the latest roster moves.

It was sad to say goodbye to my teammates considering we have been together for such a long time. We had the same line-up sense the beginning of cod4 and have LANed twice together throughout our time as a team. To see a stable team die is always not a good thing. But i hope my teammates find good teams to play for :) and as always I wish the best for all the cevo-p teams. It was a fun time and a learning experience. Thanks for everything guys! :)

CoD4 isn't a good enough game to waste time on trying to be competitive cevo-p at.
All the fun was at LAN or on vent--not in-game.

With that said, I still wish our team could have at least finished the season, but "lack of interest" sums up why it would be a pain.

#32, It is free money but I would rather compete in cevo-p and play good teams(well the few that are actually good) I would even take over rsports record now of 0-6 and we would still make playoffs and even if we didnt I would rather do that

NRv is probably one of the best players in this game, but I think you were misinformed juveyy, you act like you were a guaranteed move up if any team had died.

You really weren't, notice why you weren't in cevo-p in the first place. I am not going to have this argument with you though, as it does not matter anymore now that they won't move up anymore this season.

It just is sorta annoying always seeing you act like it was your birth right to get moved up.

Just to clarify, I am not saying skillwise nexus doesn't deserve to be there. Cause they would destroy all of the teams except pandemic and eg, which they could still obviously beat, just those games would be really close and could go either way.

I love NRv, and it is no fault of his own for nexus gaming's track record, but you guys died in PLAYOFFS with matches still to be played, at least rsports dying makes sense.
