CEVO-P revisits mp_crash one last time as season two rounds the halfway point.
With the completion of 4:2 this evening, CEVO-Professional will be halfway through its second season. While normally at this juncture it would make sense to start putting together a playoff picture, there are a few subtleties which must first be considered. For example, Evil Geniuses are 1-0 after seven match nights. Pandemic are similarly afflicted having made up a few of their matches since returning from Europe and sit at 3-1. So while FocaL, x3o, and Awakening presently occupy the final three playoff slots, a lot remains to be seen.
One of the most interesting games going live tonight features 50cal and x3o. Fresh off of their first loss this season, 50cal look to bounce back with a big win. With back to back overtime wins heading in, x3o definitely will not be easy to take down. A win in the middle of the season against a top team could catapult x3o into safer playoff waters while a loss would throw them into middle tier uncertainty. Top ranked Dynamic (8-0) played their match against Awakening early and took the win 14-10. LFS will try to keep their position in the top three against an underperforming maingear squad. Also tonight, EG return to CEVO competition with a match against Iconic and Pandemic gets back on track with a game against MoBdeep. #22 two things were made extremely clear before the season began:
1) hijacking would be enforced
2) schedules would be adhered to
s1 was a complete mess in part because teams had it in their heads that they could force opponents to reschedule at their convenience. additionally, if a match is agreed upon and scheduled, it absolutely should be played or forfeited. however, i would argue that if a match is not finalized in match comms and one team is requesting a reschedule, that they at least be at the mercy of their opponent to offer an additional day and not sentenced to death by a hard and fast league mandate.
Either way it's not an easy call and I've got Ian's back for doing what he said he would.
#26 I understand it may was getting out of hand but christ it's summer you can't expect people to be everyday @ their computer, some people go on vacation and shit. Moreover you probably know that when you try to reschedule the opposite team always have the best reasons in the world not to be able to play another day ( Not talking about x3o here but just in general).
I just think its silly that EG and -p- can push all of their matches back for weeks (even a month in some cases ?), but we cannot push it back one day.
I mean come on guys, RL>CoD, sometimes teams need a day or two because life doesn't revolve around video games!
What I WOULD however like to say is that there should be no reason that if two teams agree to reschedule (e.g. neither can field five one night, or a team has sympathy) ONCE for a day before the second match is played. I don't understand how that could be so hard. If nothing else, it will make things easier for Feeley and his preds/results. One day to pred, one day to results. HOLL@
#27 has a valid point, but really? I'm pretty sure just about every team this season has played at least one match without their starting five and has paid dearly for it. We're in cevo-p, if you're not stratting your brains out you don't have a stones throw at winning convincingly... and throwing someone who hasn't played with you all week into the machine is a sure fire failure. So, like I said, start playing with a sixth who's willing to /kill and be a permanent ringer. Most of us have lives, he's going to play.

FFW's suck for both teams because it'll rape both team's CPI. GL making playoffs with more than 1-2 FFW's.
Also I love all the 50cal guys but the real life argument can only take you so far. If you can't plan ahead and clear two days of the week to play your CEVO-p matches then maybe it's time to reconsider playing in the league. I know you guys are just in it for fun but you need to respect your opponents taking the time out of their week to show up and play you on the designated nights. If you can't do that then you shouldn't expect them to reschedule around you.
You guys are acting like typical children who can't take responsibility for anything.
On a side note, I heard rob-wiz rang for pandemic for a match, I would hope that he would not be allowed to play with EG in a match for that same week, because I think it is against cevo rules to play 2 matches for the same match week (for example 4:1) on 2 different teams. We will see if cevo enforces this or if teams like EG and Pandemic are above the rules.

That shows that obviously that new cevo rule needs to be revised. Imo, rescheduling should be possible as long as the match is being played a day or two after the initial date.

I find it funny how you try to act like your team is any professional when you're the first one to debate you have a life and that everyone who takes this game seriously have no life. Good Riddance.
