GotFrag takes an introductory look at the upcoming release in the Call of Duty Series, World at War.

(GotFrag) - November 11th is just around the corner. If you have kept up with the beta process for xbox 360 and now PC, you should be well acquainted with the new version. If not, do not fret, GotFrag has got you covered. Here, we will take a brief look at the features of the multiplayer with more indepth articles to come in the near future.

Surprisingly enough, CoD5 looks, feels, and sounds almost like a skinned CoD4. While the game comes from the same publisher that might not seem like an unlikely thing. But with Activision's leapfrog development in the CoD series, and thus Infinity Ward and Treyarch taking turns at each release, you would expect to see some definitive differences in the newest version. This is not the case. In almost every possible way, CoD5 is CoD4 with World War II era weapons, maps, equipment, and player models.
Game Modes
Core
War
Capture the Flag
Team Deathmatch

Free for All
Search and Destroy

The CoD5 multiplayer follows the same exact guidelines set forth by CoD4, and if you were a fan of that version, you will love this game. Players can choose any weapon from any country regardless of which team is chosen. There are ranks based on XP points once again, with players unlocking additional weapons, gear, and perks as they are promoted and satisfy certain challenges. Speaking of perks, yes they are back. There are a few new ones, mainly to make use of the technology they did not have back in WWII, along with some returning perks from CoD4.

Perks
First Group
Special Grenade x 3
Satchel Charge x 2
M9A1 Bazooka x 2
Bomb Squad
Bouncing Betty x 2
Bandolier
Primary Grenade x 2
M2 Flamethrower

Second Group
Stopping Power
Fireworks
Flak Jacket
Gas Mask
Juggernaut
Camouflage
Sleight of Hand
Shades
Double Tap
Overkill

Third Group
Deep Impact
Extreme Conditioning
Steady Aim
Toss Back
Second Chance
Martyrdom
Fireproof
Dead Silence
Iron Lungs
Reconnaissance

Depending on which game mode you are playing, some multiplayer maps now also include vehicles. Players can hop in tanks, which have room for two players, one driving and on the main gun, and another on the machine gun. Along with that comes a bunch of vehicle based perks, and special weapons which will help destroy said vehicles. More likely than not, vehicles will not be making their way to any competitive form.

Vehicle Perks
Water Cooler
Greased Bearings
Ordnance Training
Lead Foot
Coaxial Machine Gun

Just like in CoD4, there are rewards for kill streaks. After three kills, you are given a Recon Plane, which is exactly like the UAV given in Modern Warfare. If you continue on to five kills in a row without dying, you are rewarded with an artillary strike, which works the same way that the airstrike did in CoD4. Finally, after seven kills in a row, you "release the dogs," where instead of the helicopter from CoD4, a ton of German Shepards are released on the opposing team. Your enemies can shoot down the dogs, and are rewarded 3 points per dog they kill.

Kill Streak Bonuses
3 Kills - Recon plane
5 Kills - Artillery
7 Kills - Call in the dogs
