Call Of Duty: The eXperience COD4 Tournament for €10,000

With the summer approaching... TEX brings us some hope...

TEX is a annual non-byoc event that has been around since 2006. It has won nomations and awards for event of the year in 2008. The event itself takes place at Gimle in the center of Roskilde, Denmark. The event as a whole will take place from July 27th to August 1st. Just earlier this week The eXperience was announced and released their first tournament with the game FIFA 2009. It will have a €3,000 prize pot that will surely attract some of the stiffest competition from all over europe. They devised the idea of announcing a gamer every day until all 5 games have been made public. Tuesday more light was shed on the situation with Counter-Strike Source being chosen with a €10,000 prize pot.

Finally when Wednesday morning rolled around it was finally made public that Call of Duty 4 would be the 3rd of 5 tournaments chosen to take place at this prestigious event. Like CSS, COD4 would also hold a €10,000 prize pot for its participants. Hopefully with a prize pot of this size, it will be able to attract some NA competition like last year when Team Evil Geniuses and Team Pandemic traveled across the pond to take home 2 First place finishes @ TEX and AEF. Some of the prospect teams to travel abroad could include Team Pandemic, MoB-Gaming, MoB-Deep, and Pure eSports.

The Call of Duty 4 tournament will begin on July 29th and will end the next day on July 30th. The format of the event will be Group Play on Day 1 and Double-Elimination taking place on Day 2. The prize distribution will be very similar to that of last year where you earn a piece of the pot with every upper bracket match you win.

Ticket sales will begin April 15th, so be ready to sign-up quickly because this event will surely fill up fast.
