my bad haha
This is all my personal opinion and is in no way reflective of GotFrag's views on this matter.
whats happend to the well organized american events with all the topteams and the biggest prestige ,money prices , many spectators and and and and whats going on there?
CPL & CS 1.6 is dying! SAVE! :x
I know this, and it failed. When I say a new game, I mean completely new. One game currently that might boost up competition again is CoD4 if a universal ruleset can be agreed upon by North American and European leagues.
Looking at next years lineup for PC games I do not see any FPS that stick out as a game that will be extremely popular and/or competitive. Unless there is a MOD being released that has some true design value, I'd say that 08' will be the year that hits competitive gaming the hardest.
You could also have some of the pro teams who went to CS:Source come back to CS 1.6, but we already no this wish is in the grave.
and for all of you who say 1.6 is dying? its not. its just the fact that the CPL organization didn't pay up to past teams all of their winnings (all of which are or were from G7), therefore they decided to screw CPL for not doing so, and just not show up.
hopefully, the people at CPL will give G7 the rest of their tourney money, and we can again see good matchups in future CPL tourneys...
oh, and about source, notice how the only country w/ source teams is USA... all other countries still have 1.6 and still compete in other famous tourneys. FYI CPL is not the only good gaming tournament in eSports...
Some of you who think that should really read about what happened to the CPL and why alot of the top teams didnt come.
but as far as the EUROPEAN scene goes there are still a ton of great teams
