i was never a d!e hater but this is a little much for even me to believe..id say heh..nj if they got like top20 but freakin DIE gets 5th at cpl..i mean where do they come from..

fire is bad...

only reason they won is because Titans don't play this map usually.. it's not common over there.

Yeah, D!E had an advantage on this map, but I don't think that should take away from their great performance at CPL, and they nonetheless beat the Titans, even if it was on de_calclanswin.

and Titans isnt bad at this map dont even bring that up CPL announces MAP Roation like 1 month before CPL for teams to pratice the maps, its Titans fault... even if they dont know it kthx.

#9 so u say theres no advantage what so ever, when they are playing a map thats frequently played in online leagues in america... concerning titans maybe pracced this map max. 15 times it's a decent result by the titans, but any other map than de_calclanswin it's a different call :O

If you get this error: "Error: could not load file maps/fire2.bsp" just rename your de_cpl_fire to fire2.bsp and it'll work.

titans probly asked for like an extra 10 minutse to review the map. any other map titans would have crushed them.

this may not apply to the titans, but i was reading an interview with SK and they said that they never even played on cplfire. so if SK doesnt practice it we can probably assume the same for Titans

lol... u guys are SAD, look who titans lost to and look who D!E lost to, if D!E had an easier final bracket they would of placed top3, but they had to play EYE which is the best team that crushed SK, and they had to play Dskyline on there best map, also note that D!E's bad map is nuke look how sloppy they are on the demos or HLTV. now if u know that cpl_fire is gonna be in the rotation and u dont pratice it that means ur confident of urself and too bad titans gut crushed by D!E end of story.

Oh, then lets introduce a totally new map in ESWC that american clans have never played, but euro teams play all the time, and see if you would react the same way boyer...

Titans is much better than D!E, end of story.
Remember, EYE crushed D!E on a map that euro teams never plays as well.

While Titans should have practiced a map, I hope that is a joke #24. It was a well-played CPL by D!E but they made it AUTOMATICALLY to the top 6 (aka winner's bracket semi's) without playing a single top euro team. When they finally played EYE and then DSky they totalled like 8 rounds in two matches. Much props to D!E, but they actually got kind of a nice bracket, avoiding early games to EYE/SK/dsky, even with the #26 seed.

You simply cannot even find any team on this side of the atlantic who's willing to play cpl_fire. We never touched the map either, same with all/most of the europian teams in attendance.

Would the score have been whole different in another map? Probably.

"not touching this map" is not a valid excuse. It makes sense to me that if you're traveling all that way to CPL, you would have your stuff down for the entire map list.

hahaha sk plays 24/7 you cant tell me they didnt practice that map and this goes for the titans to. Its like the teachers tells you what questions are gonna be on the test but you dont bother to study and say well i didnt study so its your fault.

Yeah, it's not like it's a new map. It's been on all the cpls I know of.

excuses excuses... bottomline is the map has been on CPL rotation FOREVA.
Drop the "Oh we're european, we dont play American cpl maps" attitude and just suck it up and practice.

actually fire has never been in a cpl rotation. It was thrown in as a run off map for 5th and 7th place finishers last summer. It is a horrible map and you can't expect top european teams to practice it when they would have no one to practice it against, because I never even want to scrim that map and its in the cal rotation. Why would other european teams want to even look at that crap? Aside from all that though DiE played very well this cpl, proving they are one of the top american teams.

I am a guy from over the ocean and no-one is playing fire because it'isn't a good map :S we like mill :) but almost every server doesn't have that map :( (sorry 4 my bad english) :)

we had NEVER played this map as a team and didnt even really know where to go, i agree titans had no idea what they were doing but we were both running around lost. It may have been different on a different map but so could have our matches vs EYE and dsky. Our worst maps are nuke and mill and we played both of those teams on those maps. Rival beat dksy on d2 and we beat rival on train, both very common maps, so if we played dksy on any other map the outcome could have been very different as well! Losing to the 1st and 4th place team is nothing to be ashamed of, so quit flaming us and just shut up. Titans are amazing and they also placed very well
