how long ago did you buy HL/retail CS? just wondering how long you would have had to have CS to have a 5 or 6 digit

it depended on when you registered a steam account..

its not based on when u bought the game. steamid is based on when u registered on the steam system. i got mine about 8am the morning it came out and my id is 0:0:46268 in order to get a 4 digit i believe u needed to register within 3 or 4 hrs after it came out.

steamid = whenever you create a steam account
wonid = when you bought the game (from the box) before steam.

You received one for just signing up early. The early you got Steam when it came out the lower your steamid is/was.

the people that got it in the beta have 0:1:whatever, then after the beta you got _0:0:whatever tho ive seen a few larger 0:1:'s about of late so i think they might have changed that perhaps.

i got mine before release at about 11 that night and its 1773 ;\
