It hasn't been shown in the gameplay video, and it has only been mentioned ONCE since 2006, and Alex basically said "it's not in the beta, but we know how to do it". This is pretty much, for me, the biggest letdown of the project.
When im playing 1.6, it's not just about the movement style and the recoil control, it's about freedom. Freedom, that if you know where an enemy is, you have control over them and the fact that they hide behind a wall / retreat to a place behind a wall (which happens a lot in Source, and can happen in CSP).
Now, I can only really speculate as to why they haven't implemented wallbanging. My first assumption is that basically it would set back the beta by a long long way, and that actually testing it would require a lot of effort. And I'm almost certain that isn't going to happen anytime soon since the project has been delayed and the only "progress" they're doing is trying to get it on steam (which I'm all for) and fixing minor bugs (thats what a beta is for). There could also be another reason - they don't even want to implement it. If thats the case then I really am concerned, this could be because they want to appease CGS and Valve (perhaps it's not the most interesting thing to see someone playing a game spraying at a wall on Nuke and the commentator struggling to reassure a casual viewer that they're damaging the opponent).
However you look at it though, this is not going to be a pro mod any more challenging than 1.6 in any way I personally think. The models will stay the same size as CSS a significant period of time (I honestly believe they will have CSS models for over a year, maybe more, as they try and get backing from Valve and CGS). There doesn't seem to be the same effect when you get hit in CSP, its simply a knockback instead of getting stuck to the ground (whether thats better or worse only the beta testers know). Finally, there isn't going to be wallbanging, an integral part as to why 1.6 is the premier team based FPS.
Opinions? Am I the only one thats pretty gutted about no wallbanging in CSP, or am I just being anal?

This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 1000 character limit
grandvillain already posted on the forums saying that wallbanging was in the open beta, they just didn't show it in the video. i don't see why he'd lie.
Actually, it's in there. We've been using the extra pre-release time to clean up bugs and add other major features, so we've been tweaking the spamming some more. I agree with you, it's a pretty vital part of gameplay, so I'm glad we were able to sneak it in under the wire. Spamming, or "wallbanging" as you Euros call it, should work in about 95% of the places it does in 1.6. I'm sure we'll have some tweaking to do before it's perfect, but you can expect it to be pretty spot-on in the first release (as with the other features).
#18 wtf? Anyway....If those guys dont do anything about the stupid ragdols, recoil and model lag isuess which are the bigest problems in CSS, who gives a fok about walling? I will miss that though...{:D...
awesome - great news. thanks for the post alex. you made the right choice including it, shoulda put it in the video though and made a big deal about it - since its a huge draw to the mod.
props to arqon and co devs then.

Seems like they are going to try and advertise like crazy and try and sell the game with valves help and make some money but it's basically just source with maps closer to 1.6 everything else is source. Still an improvement but not worth paying money for something any map maker could do.
I don't think they have a clue what they are doing and if you can't wall yet they really don't have a clue because that is one of the huge differences between 1.6 and source and all the wallhackers will quickly jump to promod if they just include the walls.
The guy running pro mod looks like some burned out stoner just getting ready to scam some suckers. If he was any type of real project leader he would atleast get a haircut and get some nice clothes.
I'm not going to donate my money so he can score some more pot.
alex is my dick getting bigger ? :P (just kidding)
Now seriously why in bleep do you guys act at the start of the thread like they can't just add it in? It was in the first video and they have no idea what they were doing so obviously it can be easily implemented. Now lets all go right a letter to the cgs or post on their forums telling them to switch to csp since anything even IF csp was terrible it would still be better than Source.
#30 are you a retard? Did you not read what chibsquad said in this thread? Its not going on sale on Steam and wallbanging will be included in the first beta, ass.
#38 you're an idiot, download source sdk it comes with a model viewer, look at the hitboxes yourself rather than believing a 3 year old youtube video of bots
CSP wont have wallbanging

3) hopefully csp will be good

i hope im rite
i cant imagine cs without spamming
its too cool

ah just saw chibsquads post ;<
and btw; wallbanging > spamming
Zet spamming in source LOL !!
I like #2 and #5. If I could I would close this thread.
Wall > Human ROFL
can't that guy put on some motion capture suit and model for CSP? ;]
#46 yeah, but I admire his bravery (or drunkery, either case, I admire it because it knows no limits :p)
