Does anyone else lag at night when playing CS or surfing the web? I was playing CS a couple of minutes ago and about every 6 minutes I would lag and it wouldn't go away unless I exit and rejoin. Also my download speed is inconsistent and slow at night too. I live around San Jose, California btw.
yeah i've been having this problem...but recently it started at night...usually it was during the afternoon from 3 -9. Restarted router/modem multiple time...no avail. Trying to find a solution but until then....Comcast is bad...
EDIT: i live on the east coast, so it's not just where you live.
#4 haha, how is comcast bad? I live in Canada and don't have comcast, but seriously, you can't say a company is bad based on your experiences alone. I mean their the biggest CABLE (INTERNET AND TV) provider in the US if not the world.
comcast is good but it fluctuates depending on the usage around your area. i think your best bet is to call comcast and complain to them as much as you can, theyll send someone out to look at it
i live in hawaii and i had roadrunner for 3~4 years. i had more ping than usual for almost a full year like +20 more added on to the ping i had before, and everyone had the same problem as me. which led me to a final conclusion.. Roadrunner sucks.
I mean if a company's gonna block/mess with their customers' P2P AND have the FCC on their ass... they are not what I would consider "good". Luckily I found an alternative to torrent so when I go back home in two weeks, I won't have to deal with that crap.

#9 how is that comcasts fault? Because they probably don't route your connection DIRECTLY to chicago? They probably, for example, go to New york, another server then off to ATT's network, yes I've worked for comcast. Lemme give another example, I'm with shaw high speed internet in manitoba canada. Lets say I tracert [inser dns/ip here] it will go from my router, to modem, to NODE 1, to NODE 2, to shaw router, then it's off the shaw network and off to the next server which may very well be owned by bell or rogers or w/e. Now if I'm pinging anywhere from =<20 in the first 5 HOPS I listed then shaw is fine and the issue is off the shaw network onto w/e server it's on... I know shaw WAS routing all my connections through vancouver to seattle then off the network, but for myself that has changed luckily.

yea actually i get that SH|T to and i live in concord , SH|TS pretty gay i recentley moved and started getting that SH|T , i got that triple play bullshit so my phone is connected to my modem i was assuming that was why.. F*CK who knows when i call comcast i get some indian guy whos like 1000000000000 miles away and doesnt know what hes doing :(
my comcast owns i pay for my own so my parents dont take up all my bandwith but their costumer service is f*cking retarded i told them a million times i needed a self install kit and they still sent a dumbass install guy out here so i told him to leave
So I guess there's no real answer to fix this? I don't want to end up calling them and be on the phone for more than 30 minutes talking to their tech support and has no idea what he or she is doing. I have so many bad experiences from that like when I got my router I called them for tech support and they said it was my ISP so I called my ISP and they said it was the router's fault wtf... -_-

I now have FiOS....15Mb Upload and 15MB Download...
lets just say i ping better to ATL servers from Philly than people in Miami do.
and the TV is effing amazing too. much better quality than Comcast and even better than Optimum Online's TV service in NY too.
