Well well well, I got bored and decided that I'd finally be the one to do this since in the last week I've had way to much free time anyways. So here we go:
Prediction - The bo3 format is definitely the best idea that has been presented for the playoffs yet, and I think really shows who the better team's are, ESPECIALLY in this type of scenario. In my opinion, here we have 2 teams that have completely different play-styles, and with the 3 map selection, this should be more than interesting. HEG definitely has the faster, more aggressive play style of the 2, which nowadays seems to work best. On mill however, I see iLLicit's patience and experience giving them a slight upper hand, especially on bomb defense after plants. If I had to guess, I would say HEG probably likes to stack the mid/B area on CT and play a passive retake approach on site 1, which could lead to a very fast paced offense for iLLicit if they work A alot. Both team's need to very mindful of greed CT side, and be weary of getting baited into early picks, which I think both teams will have a tendency to try on offense. I'd give the edge to iLLicit on mill as long as they take T side first to set the pace and come out with the win overall. If HEG wins the first map they are without question a team that can easily ride the momentum and use it without getting sloppy to secure a win in the 2nd map. Beyond that, I see iLLicit taking the first map anyways.
Round One - iLLicit > HEG 16-12 Round Two - HEG > iLLicit 16-8 Round Three - iLLicit > HEG 19-17
I dunno.. this could be a toss up. We have iLLicit who's been in cal-main since the beginning of time and we have HEG full of a bunch of players i've never heard of before "beaR", "eMonKs", etc..
