CAL still has potential. Gotfrag hurts CAL without them covering it, so no one gets to see what goes on. I know it sounds crazy, but Gotfrag can help CAL out by giving it some exposure, but just like any media coverage, they pick and chose what to cover because of the organizations(CEVOvsCAL), and not for the community at large.
Obviously, lots of variation, but as someone who has played all of those besides CAL-I/CEVO-P and still actively plays teams from all leagues, I'd say it is pretty accurate. There are CAL-M teams in CEVO-M, etc. lots of variants but still fairly accurate.
CAL seriously sucks. No paying, crappy teams, crappy admins, and yet im still playing in it. it almost means nothing to be cal-m or cal-i in anything unless you play cevo-p
yea gf barely does any coverage of CAL anymore, I do agree with that. I used to look forward on CAL match nights of the MELEES but you dont even see those anymore.
They could probably pull in money from advertising and put it towards cash prizes for their league divisions. They managed to do it with some server company for CAL I a season or two back. I think it was, like, $500 first place and then some server sponsorships. >.o
Dont even try to blame gotfrag for Cal's problems. Its not gotfrags fault CAL doesnt know how to run a legit league where people cant cheat. The real reason is because of CEVO. Cevo's client, is unhackable. Just about anyone can hack on Cal's client and get away with it. As long as ur good at covering it up ur cal-i.
CS especially, at a time when 1.6 is arguably losing ground to source, can't afford bias like this. CS is CS. CAL still has plenty to offer to teams and fans.
Oh, and its not hard at all. All you gotta do is post the match times, the melee, and maybe get an interview here and there and some analysis on the progression of the seasons. I could do it by myself.
As much as gotfrag helps the community, it hurts it, too.
What Happened to CAL?

I agree with that statement
CAL-O -> CAL-IM/CEVO-A -> CEVO-IM/CAL-M -> CEVO-M/CAL-P/I -> CEVO-P
