i used to get 100fps in about 6 smokes now im not getting 100 constant in no smoke wtf? pc=
6600GT 128mb vid card 3.4ghz HT processor 1gb ram
formated yesterday thought i had virus or so and i did get a fps boost from like 40 fps to like around 70-80 but it still does go down to like 40 or less sometimes, i got omega video drivers, latest, tried rolling back to original drivers no luck.
anyway make sure you dont have any anti aliasing or anisotropic filtering on, if it aint that then you must have some crappy drivers, just use the default ones.
Aye that PC isn't too great, you gotta think how much Steam has killed CSS, the FPS gets less and less, I swear when it first came out, I got more with AMD Athlon 3200+ and a GF4 MX440 then I get with my e6400 and 8800GT
i never get FPS drops, never lag in smoke....what is wrong with all of these people having good comps and getting crappy fps, ive never had a problem keeping constant 100
Sounds like a problem with your obviously good-enough-for-cs computer; might be overheating, might be drivers, might just need to let your computer sit for a few days after the reformat. idk.
I can run the aa/af all the way up with 1600x1200 res and get 120ish fps, so I can't really help, other than suggest possibilities. gl
#9 i have the same things you have LOL. and i dont get fps drops unless theres 7 smoke in screen. and i get stable fps in source too, but i limited it out at 90fps since theres occasional drops.

make sure aa/af are off (unless you can usually get 100 w/ them on and you absoultely can't play without some anti-aliasing and filtering)
vsync off
