Ok you seem like a humble gent so i'll help you out :)
There's online- and lan tournaments, and leagues are always held online. Most upcomming events like big leagues and LAN's are posted here on Gotfrag.com so there shouldn't be no problem finding them.
So you want to join a team. Right. You need to get your hands on IRC, and if you're from North America you have to join the "GameSurge" servers and if you're from Europe you have to join "Quakenet". Now in Quakenet there's alot of channels where you can find PCW's/praccs/mixes and stuff.. Some hot channels for new people like yourself are: #lemondogs #pcw #5on5.cs and so on, you'll find what you need in time.. So you just play some mixes and stuff, and maybe you find some dude who you think is humble and cool and maybe a good player or atleast on your level of skill. So you decide to make a clan with him, or maybe he's even making you an offer to join his clan. So when the clan is up its just about practicing, joining an online league and later go to LAN... And remember, if there is one game that is perfect for the sentence "Practice makes master" it's Counter-strike, so just keep on playing...
i'm going to be brutally honest with you #1 cs is not an easy game to just come into competitively now since the people you will play against will be years ahead of you in ingame experience and knowledge. But if you want to get at a competitive level asap message me your account email to add you to steam friends and i can hook you up with some people to teach you the basics of team based cs and do scrims with you and stuff.
#cLANdodgers #danielvutran get on my level, nerds.
sad flaming azzwipes, the kids just asking for some help to get going x] anyhoo just try scrimming at first via quakenet or gamesurge (depending on where you live, US or UK?) and worry about finding a team later, when you get the basics down gl
thanks mate i appreciate the help, im not trying to find a team asap man dnt worry. i realise it takes a few years to get good and that, just trying to find some background info etc.
yea i realise the scrimming etc, and ive signed up with quakenet, but i think im being stupid.
i cant find how to get on quakenet cs servers?
